We went for brunch with Santa today and were absolutely spoiled by Amy our waitress and Santa himself. Not to mention, I have one bacon obsessed son and he said it was the best! Thanks for the wonderful holiday party with a sledding hill, bonfire, games and fun company.
AMAZING! Our family had the BEST time. The cabins are simple, but very comfortable and clean. A short walk to the lake. Boat, Kayak Paddleboard rentals, and the food at the restaurant is fantastic!Rooms: 4/5
Only went to go swimming taking the kids and family we go every year now. Super nice water is warm. Alot of rocks so definitely recommend water shoes. There's a restaurant and 2 little market stores. Boar ramps. There is lounge/ Beach chairs out by the water. Not a handicap place friendly.Location: 5/5
Our family gathered from 3 different states to celebrate my brother's 75th birthday at the Lake of the Woods Resort. We rented 4 cabins, and one RV space. We had the BEST time! Two of our cabins were next to each other, so every night we had our campfire in the pit between two of them. We enjoyed Paddleboarding, Kayaking, hiking, and hanging out at the resort. The staff is AMAZING...so friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the lodge and the food was fantastic. We are definitely going to make LOTW an annual trip!
This area is beautiful! The resort is located in an alpine wilderness area that creates the perfect setting for relaxing, campingand spending time outdoors. Open year round the cute cabins and resort amenities make for an enjoyable time. Wether you are there for a week or just the weekend their is plenty to keep the whole family occupied. The restaurant has a fabulous menu and plenty of beverages you could definitely go with out groceries if you wanted. Enjoyed our brief visit and am planning to go back soon!Check it out for yourself! You won't be disappointed!!!
We have now been visiting the resort for 8 years now. We love the improvements and the new addition to the lodge and bar upstairs. The staff has been great and very friendly. The lake pretty much always stays full and the water is clean and clear.
This was such a beautiful trip. The cabin was perfect and right by the water. I was able to go kayaking and also take a hike on a stunning trail. In the evenings I put my chair in the water and was able to really relax. Staff there were all very kind to me. I will be back.Rooms: 4/5
Great little cabin (#7) in the trees, quiet, private, lake view, chipmunk visitors on the deck, jacuzzi tub, Sweetheart Special (meal gift certificate & champaign in room). Very nice restaurant/bar plus pizza place. Docks, boat/paddle rentals (we had own kayaks), fishing, walking, relaxing. All made for extremely nice celebration of our 56th anniversary. Very clean, well cared for facilities and friendly staff. Most reasonable prices.
Dropped in to catch some music. Pay for parking. Decided to have dinner at the lodge as the BBQ line was very long. Was asked to go upstairs to the bar. The service was awesome as were the drinks. Food seemed to take forever though. When we got it it was correct and tasty. We will be back
We stayed in cabin #16 for 3 nights (1050.00). First off, the rate is excessive, but it was for a special occasion. Second, upon entry we could tell the hardwood (vinyl hardwood) was filthy. After a short time the bottoms of our socks were black, so we spent some time mopping the floors and cleaning the countertops because they weren't looking too sanitary either. The third and worst thing was the bedding and spare blankets. GROSS!! The sheets were not fresh and the paper thin comforter hadn't been washed in ages. It was dark grey with dirt around the edges and a lovely red jello crust all over as well. There were 3 extra folded blankets on the shelf. When unfolded, we could tell it was used as a dog bed and the hair was thick and obviously dirty. Another thing to note is the cookware for this cabin. It is equipped with a gas range, which is fine, but the cookware provided in the cabinets was very thin and poor quality. It made cooking anything on the stovetop very difficult and almost impossible not to burn food, even on LOW heat. The restaurant and store is ridiculously expensive so make the most out of your own resources. All complaints aside, we did enjoy our stay. Next time we'll bring our own bedding and Wetjet to clean the floors. We did mention these issues to the registration desk. The lady who checked us out said, "What do you want me to do about it?". So in closing, they need some polishing in Customer Service too.
We love this get away location! I highly recommend this location for food, swim, BBQ, fishing, camping, etc. However I would recommend the resort post a notice to the guests when guests are not able to use charcoal grills. A lot of guests weren’t able to cook because they weren’t notified of their limitations before entering the park.
Stayed 3 nights in one of the bigger cabins & one of only 2 of them on the lakefront. More of our group had the other. The cabin was very clean with fresh beds, towels, clean kitchen & dishes. Probably better decorated & furnished than I expected - after all, it's a CABIN. Loved being near the water with nothing blocking the view from this cabin. We noticed the grounds keepers and staff work like a well-oiled machine every early morning, preparing for a busy weekend of guests. The marina staff was helpful to provide a last-minute request for a boat slip and even replaced one of the bumpers that had gone missing. (probably just came untied).Complaints regarding the cabin are too small to mention. The Lodge however, has some work to do. Even though they're not shy about saying how short-staffed they are, that doesn't give the staff that is there an excuse for not being excellent themselves. The cooks/wait staff mixed up orders like crazy or didn't catch any of the requested exceptions. Although very friendly. The Saturday night BBQ buffet... PASS. The line to get our food was over an hour of standing, they ran out of the major sides, refused to accept to-go orders from inside the Lodge so we could eat outside and enjoy the music (great band on Aug 13th!) and the marina's pizza oven "wasn't working" (Although those who pre-ordered pizzas for a specific pick-up time got theirs. How does that work?) It felt like people were being forced to the buffet by eliminating all other options during the 4-8pm entertainment. The buffet was just bad. Tri-tip was tough, ribs were 100% fat/rare/cold, the potato salad & corn on the cob was all gone, and so was the free lemonade. Then you had to stand in an equally long line to order/pay for drinks. Although it said no outside food during this time, we finally just went and got drinks from our cabin anyway and enjoyed the music and atmosphere which, without the chaos of the Lodge's food situations, was wonderful! Bottom line: YES on the cabin. YES on the marina. NO on Saturday dinner at the Lodge. YES on the Saturday entertainment.
Beautiful lake and services. I was helped out by a gentleman when my puppy went missing, I'm sorry but I don't remember his name but I believe he is someone in authority, he was exceptionally kind and courteous and helped me find her, this kind of customer service is sadly lacking these days. I would like to thank him again for all his help, by the way they sell the best pizza I have had in many a long year, good value for money as the medium pizza was huge.
Great resort with plenty of activity! They have cabins, rv and campsites, several day use areas and boat launches. They even have group camps and rentals available. It is often busy with people but there is plenty of nature to be appreciated and shared! Not a good locale if you are looking for more solitude but my family loves all the options for things to do around the lake?
I went to eat here for the first time on a whim and I loved it. We got there early so the service was fast. My lady and I got a Lake of the Woods Omelet /w a Pepsi. I ordered mine with home fries and she got hash browns. It was so good! The quality was top notch so now we have to come back. Beautiful view of the lake from the restaurant and impressive patio setup too!
