How do you tell your wife you have been cheating on them? She did her best to make me the ultimate cheeseburgers and up until now, well, I haven’t had the heart to tell her! Oh sure! She will find out! All the receipts I have been conveniently forgotting lately! I have even gone so far as to say the money has been going towards booze and gambling but she is like the Terminator and for me, every day is Judgement Day! The Hen Burger at the Roadhouse is worth throwing your marriage away over but I digress! Finding the Roadhouse is where the real adventure begins. I had heard through less than scrupulous sources that the place was the best place around to “hookup” with a good burger! Upon arrival I discovered there is no “front” door to the place. After wondering around for a couple hours I drove around back to find their discreet entrance. I walked into the place and I guess people had been betting on how long it would take me to find the way in or leave and some lucky winner got the long-shot! The place has that Roadhouse charm alright; rustic, rugged, totally hot bartender! I ordered a soda which also seemed to have won some happy patron a few dollars and took a gander at the menu! That was when I saw her, ah , it! The Hen Burger! Blah blah blah… … WITH AN EGG ON TOP!!!! I couldn’t look away. I started sweating and questioning the possibility of my faithfulness to my wife’s burgers! Could it be? Should I tempt the fates? When my order came I realized why the back door entrance was so convenient. I snuck out of there like a preacher leaving a porn store and I ate it, I ate it all baby! Luckily they included enough napkins, a wet wipe, and a TicTac to cover my nefarious activities by the time I found where I parked my car. But how long until she knows? How long until she cooks me a burger and I breakdown and tell her it just ain’t good enough anymore? How long can a relationship like this go on? Not long I guess!

Food and service have gone downhill since the last time we were in there. We had chicken strips and tater tots, and they were so salty and wade down like it was old grease they cooked them in. The chicken strips looked low graded. They were not as crumbly and crispy, like they used to be. The ranch dip was so watery. The bar tender acted like it was too much trouble to get us drinks at our table and served us once and never came back. She served us drinks before our meal!! She was so interested in the regulars that were at the bar. And there were only 5 at the bar. So, say the least, we will not be returning anytime soon!!

Our server (I think her name was Mary?) was so friendly, we instantly felt like we belonged when we came in :) good vibes all around, and had some good drink suggestions for us. I ordered the hen burger and wanted a hard yolk sunny side up egg. The cook (I can’t remember her name, unfortunately) let me know she wasn’t sure if the yolk was cooked enough for my liking, and then she came back later to check to see if the egg was to my liking. I really appreciated her coming back to check on me :) I’m typically not a fan of crinkle fries don’t they’re never crispy enough for me but these were and had good flavor. Overall, great service and good burgers. Only complaint is how dark the inside of the restaurant is, but it’s also a bar, so that’s really just my personal preference. Definitely recommend!

Called in a to-go order. They said it would be ready for pickup in half an hour. Went to pick it up on time, but it wasn't ready. There were 'some orders' ahead of mine. They got me to pay up front and said it should be ready in 15 minutes. Then half an hour. What could I do? I already paid. They offered a refund and to cancel the order, but by then I already invested the original half hour plus an additional half hour. 45 minutes. Almost? I ended up sitting there for an hour before the order was ready. Just sitting awkwardly in the corner with a bunch of rowdy drunks. Fine, they were slammed. Whatever. Could have just been honest and we would never have ordered, but whatever. They fixed it by giving me a $25 gift card. Cool. Went there today for another pickup order. Guess what? The gift card was garbage. Was never activated. 'Do you have a receipt for the gift card?'.
Excellent burger, with crispy and pillows crinkle fries. No complaints from me, wonderful atmosphere and servers. Food was well cooked and came out within a reasonable time.
