I’ve eaten here several times, each time hoping for better food; my last visit is my last. The food is so mediocre, it doesn’t seem like it is prepared with much care, I had carbonara and was totally disappointed. The al dente pasta was tough! The bacon was in squares and hard, very little all over flavor. I’m Italian and come from a family of amazing cooks, so, if you don’t have much Italian food experience you might like it. Just know this is not great food.

We ordered aglio olio to go. We had previously tried the same dish at the PDX and we really loved it and had really high expectations. So, we drove 20 minutes to pick up the order. Too bad, we were thoroughly disappointed. It didn’t taste anyway near as the PDX one. There was absolutely no salt in the dish and it was horrible!!! We honestly can’t imagine you serve dishes like to people in your shop. Is it because it was a take out order? We don’t know. Anyway, we will never ever visit Lake Oswego location again!

Dry kids Mac n cheese was over priced and horrible. My kid refused to eat this. Better out of box.

Flavors are acceptable, portions not so much. I ordered the seasonal special, and was disappointed when I received my dish. I only received 10 pieces of the speciality seasonal pasta—a ravioli like pasta, filled with corn—which lacked flavor and tasted more like canned corn than anything else. The abysmal amount of pork shoulder was the cherry on top for this utterly disappointing dish from Grassa.

My kind of place. Kids took us there. Wife had calamari and I had the delicious meatballs. I would go back. Next time I think I would ask for more marinara sauce.

Holy 5-alarm fire! I got the Fusiili ala Vodka, which I know is supposed to have some heat, but this one —- it’s like the cap fell off the jar of chili flakes! I still loved it - the pasta was perfectly cooked, the pork shoulder was bursting with great spices, but I was still facially sweating through the whole meal. We got their Caesar salad too, which was excellent, not too much dressing and just the right amount of anchovies. The real deal, and helped cool off my lips.
Grassa has their counter service food model down pat, and the meals come out fairly quick, fresh and hot, so thumbs up there. Service is up and down, depending on how slammed they are, but I give them a pass since they do do aLOT of takeout orders and are not meant to be table service. Love that they have beer, wine and some cocktails too.
This location works well for all the reasons stated above, but we often get our food to go — the ambiance here is not that great. Strip-mall -modern-meets industrial in a cold, cavernous space does not make you want to linger. No thanks.

Great pasta fast. Terrible service. Spent $75 on myself, $5 Italian soda. Sat outside. Asked the waiter for a drink refill. She said “the only refills we have are for soda pop, not Italian soda (I spent $5 on this soda btw which is more than a pop). I said, “ok, can I just have a soda refill then?” She’s said, “no the only thing we can refill is soda pop and since you didn’t buy that we can only give you soda water.”

I was sitting outside.

So this waitress, after spending $75 on dinner, wants to not only not give me a refill of pop, but wants me to get out of my seat, leave my pasta on the outside table, and come pay for a soda pop at their counter.

I own a business. Over 60 team members atm. If someone did this to a customer, they’d be gone. Zero logic. Zero service. Just a drone. Hate places like that, man.

Food is amazing here! Portions are smallish, but reasonably priced and very high quality. Buy a few dishes and share, so many good ones to try. The cocktails and Italian sodas are great. Worth a visit and worth going back.
