I love the food here. I lived in India and this is the real thing. Our server was Preet and he was knowledgeable and very helpful. I come here whenever I want Indian food.

I always order their chicken Korma! I also order their tandoori chicken! I wish they were making gluten free Naan bread.

I never knew how good food from Bharat was until I tried the masterpiece that the butter chicken w/ garlic naan and rice was. Next time I'm in Portland, I'll absolutely be coming back!

Our party of 14 arrived at opening. The service was great. Some of the orders were slow to arrive, but who cares when the food is good. I had lamb jalfrezi, aloo gobi and garlic naan. All of it was delicious. I had so much take home that I got two more meals out of it. It's located in a strip mall, so the atmosphere is a bit lacking, but really, who cares.

Service was awful. We arrived at 2:10pm, they were closing at 3pm. They told us their closing time, we asked if we were too late, they said we were ok if ordered right away. We did.Food didn't come out until 2:50pm. 10 mins later, the server literally pulled my plate out from under me while I was still eating and said they were closed. There were 4 of us.Another couple came in 15 mins after we had ordered, they were seated without push back and got their food well before we did. Not sure if they got the preferential treatment bc there were two less people or bc we were a different ethnicity. We dropped $120 including the credit card fee and 20% tip (out if habit) in this place which isnt bad for less than an hour of service and the last hour of their shift. They should post a rule of "to go food only after 2pm for groups larger than 2 people and/or non-Indian patrons". Won't be back.

We love the garlic naan. Ordered and really enjoyed the chicken kormas curry and the chicken makhani curry. But the food is very rich and gave me gas all night.Maybe I can take a gas X or just visit for lunch instead of dinner.Overall, it was a very busy restaurant for Sat night. Yes, most likely will return again.

The food here is delicious! It was our first visit and there were so many things we wanted to try. The masala chai has wonderful flavor and is not sweetened - you can add sugar as you wish, but this way you can actually taste the tea. The mango lassi was remarkable and had more depth of flavor than any I have had before - maybe a touch of nutmeg? We had samosa, chicken 65, lamb saag, paratha, and chef's special biryani. Everything was amazing with so many layers of flavor and wonderful textures. We are looking forward to coming back again and again.

I had earlier left a 1 star review for service for getting denied "dine-in" at 9:22 when the closing time is advertised as 10PM.We were traveling from out-of-town and this was the one place we decided from our search at 9 PM, that we could comfortably reach before closing time of 10 PM. Most restaurants were closing at 9:30.We reached the place by 9:22 and were told dine-in closes at 9:15. I briefly tried to explain that they should advertise 9:15 closing time for restaurant, but was told that you can still order to-go.Next day, we unfortunately decided to visit the restaurant as it was the only Indian place nearby. The server first asked my wife "you seem familiar, have you been here before", which was weird and when we said yes, he followed up with: "Are you are the one that left the 1 star review last night?" and what made you so angry? After that he started explaining that their staff was tired last night and their dine-in closes at 9:15. I mentioned that they should advertise a 9:15 closing time for their restaurants and because of that we missed eating dinner last night as we were too late for other restaurants that night. After this the owner came over and started arguing that it was unreasonable for us to leave a 1-star review especially being Indians for an Indian establishment. I said we missed dinner, but he kept trying to explain why there was nothing to complain about and we should just have ordered to-go which was still open.At this point, I was deeply regretting our plan to try and eat there and I requested to cancel the order and started leaving. At this point owner started getting extremely agitated and started saying that "I shouted at him" and that "they don't need customer like us".BTW In the evening we visited another restaurant (Swagath Indian Cuisine in Portland Downtown) with a 8:30 PM closing time. I called ahead and asked would it be OK if we are there by 7:50 PM and they said "as long as you are here before 8:30 its all good".I wish all restaurants followed this policy to clearly advertise their "deny dine-in time" so folks traveling from out-of-town don't have guess various restaurants secret closing times.
