I'm so sad that Oven & Shaker changed their kale salad. I loved the old salad with the finely shredded kale, grapefruit, delicious dressing and crunchy bread crumbs. The new salad has large pieces of kale, a boring balsamic dressing, and way too many hazelnuts. It lacks the sweet counterpart to the bitter greens. The kale salad used to be one of the main reasons I came to O&S.

It was good but I felt this time (first time gluten free pizza ?) the the dough was a bit smoochy .... and I missed my old crew serving team❣️❣️ All the waitresses were new to me ... but it doesn't mean they were bad .. just different ...

Slow pizza service due to take out orders. We waited for 30 minutes with no mention of the wait time or why. Great house salad! Good bar and drinks. Huge sports TV on that is distracting for entire restaurant, and no one watching it at 5pm.

We have eaten at O&S (in Northwest) before and really enjoyed the salads and pizza. Last night was a different story. The Nostrana salad was as expected, very tasty and rich. In contrast, the kale salad was like eating weeds. The stalk was left on the leaf, which I have never thought was a favorable way to serve kale nor a good texture. It also had brown spots and seemed like a very poor quality for kale; the salad was pretty much unedible. I did provide feedback to our server about the kale stalk, as prior to order, she had mentioned that they had "re-vamped" the kale with a more favorable recipe. Hmmmmm... After our salads, the "tomato" pizza came which the menu describes as "tomato sauce, garlic, red onion, mama lil's peppers, kalamata olives, oregano". Based on the description, we expected flavor and some heat. To the contrary, the pizza "crust" was totally undercooked (like eating raw dough). The tomato sauce wouldn't stay on the crust; it slid off as we tried to eat it. The sauce had no heat or flavor either. Needless to say, we were very disappointed.

The place was dead on a Wednesday evening after having booked for my daughter's birthday in advance. We were placed at a table that appeared to be used in a shared dining experience with a large obtrusive bar that separated both sides of the table and also allowed for pizzas to be stacked on top of. Unfortunately it was not great for sitting with two children while trying to have good conversation. When I approached the hostess about relocating to a table that allowed all of us to see each other and engage in better conversation, she told me that all table of which 2/3 were currently empty, would be utilized within the next 30-40 minutes. So, rather than utilize tables that are being held, clearly losing revenue, we decided that it was best to relocate to a restaurant where we could enjoy each other's company. So we headed to Chucky's Pies in Lake Oswego that provided a fantastic birthday experience for our 10 year olds birthday! The hostess at Oven and Shaker was not accommodating in any way and we would have been willing to even wait a bit for a different table but the message delivered was take it or leave it. If you are a business in a high lease area, keeping tables full is paramount. Sitting on empty tables is just lost revenue and lost repeat business, I wish them the best but know they should consider that many restaurants operate with out reservations for this very reason.

I come here regularly for the best pizzas in town, friendly service, and, surprisingly, some of the best salads around too. Lake Oswego has limited options when it comes to a good pie, and this place could hang with anywhere on the west coast. The Grove, fried mozzarella, and the Nostrana will knock your socks off. 10/10, would always recommend.

We have been dining at Nostrana for 15+ years and were excited when they opened the Oven & Shaker in downtown PDX-the food and service were always great but it was a long way from our home & parking was challenging •••The Oven &Shaker in Lake O fixes that-they are close by,plenty of parking with the same excellent food, cocktails and wonderful service •• I would give it an enthusiastic recommendation but I don't want it to get too crowded ? 5 Stars & 2 thumbs up in my book ????

We had a wonderful experience at oven and shaker. We really liked the cross on the pizzas, the salads were delicious, and the drinks are beautiful and also innovative. Our service was exceptional. We can't wait to go back.

Had reservations at 6:30 which I confirmed the day before. When we arrived there was not a table for us. We ate at the bar. Later I noticed that I rec'd a text at 5:42 that our table was ready and to let them know we were on our way. Now I know what happened to our table. When we did not show up 45 minutes early for our reservation it was given away. To management credit we did receive gift cards for pizza and salad for our inconvenience.

The bench seating with pizza platforms is not a good experience, especially with small children. The platform is right in the kids' face, and you can't see them from across the table. I wrote in our reservation that we had small children, so I was surprised they would seat us there. They would not let us take a different table off to the side even though nobody sat in the open one for our entire visit. Other than that, the margarita pizza, cheese pizza, nostrana salad, and beet salad were excellent. I would avoid the kale salad. We don't mind anchovies but the anchovy vinaigrette has a dominant fish taste to it that was off putting. Probably would not return to this location. The one is Northwest is a better experience.

5:30 reservation, ordered @ 5:40 and food arrived 6:50! When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager delivering our order (Mikey) he became hostile, belligerent and threatening. Never in my many years of dining have I encountered this behavior. I can only imagine how he treats the staff. I have decades of management experience and can state with certainty this sad example of a manager should be given his walking papers. As for us, we'll never return. AVOID if possible.

Food is good, not great. Be prepared for an unacceptable, long wait for your order. For instance, we arrived for on time for a 5:30 reservation put in or food order approximately 10 mins thereafter. We asked our waitress several times on the status of our order with consecutive responses "just went in the oven". Finally 70 minutes after we ordered our 2 pizzas arrived delivered by the manager on duty "Mikey or Mike". When we conveyed our displeasure at the unacceptable wait, the manager became belligerent, defensive and outright hostile. In my decades of senior management and dining experience I have never experienced such a callous, rude interaction with a hospitality staff member. There are plenty of other pizza options in LO (Pizzeria Su Lago for one) that combine good pizza with good service in a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, due to on site management Oven and Shaker misses by a wide margin. AVOID if possible. We'll never return.

Pizza and Salad were excellent. Only concern/issue is that our table was not affixed to the floor properly, so it "wobbled". When we brought it to the attention of our server, she was "meh" and instead of moving us to a different table (of which there were plenty, AND we had reservations), she just basically told us to deal with it. I'd encourage management to fix the table, and this will be resolved!
