My wife and I recently shared the evening of our 29th Wedding anniversary at the Side Door. While we always enjoy our visits, this night was even more special. The ambiance at the Side Door is quite exceptional ; it always has been but, like everything here, it just keeps getting better. Warm, soft lighting, high ceiling with lazily turning ceiling fans, earth tone colors, fireplace with soft leather couches, good background jazz, and booths for those who wish them. The menu is probably the best on the Coast. While so many restaurants have downsized their menus, and failed to even adequately service them, Brook has maintained a sizable array of offerings that the kitchen unfailingly puts out in a consistent and timely fashion. I had the rack of lamb, which I've ordered four of the last six or seven times we've been in (not commonly offered otherwise, in our area). It was superb; it's a full rack served as four double chops, on a bed of vegetable risotto the like of which neither we've never found elsewhere. With the addition of grilled broccolini, the meal was complete, and absolutely wonderful. My wife's 16oz New York steak with grilled prawns was equally good (we exchanged portions). We had not tried the Coconut Creme Pie before (said to be Jeremy's favorite) but oh my god is it good. It's a must try. If you haven't been to the Side Door, you won't regret going. Price points for everyone.

We came twice in one girls trip weekend. Food, ambiance, service was impeccable. The food, was on point. Best meals we’ve had on the Oregon coast and will be back again, in a heartbeat. ❤️

What a wonderful restaurant. Busy, but not noisy. Reservations are necessary about a week out, and they remind you often enough via text. Lots of parking across the street. Staff are professional and welcoming. Charlotte was amazing and attentive to our questions and needs. Started with wild rice and chicken soup, which was hearty and flavorful. Appetizer burrata platter was so fresh, savory, and sweet with Burrata cheese, spinich, and grape tomatoes, balsamic, and oil served with baguette slices. Also, shrimp scampi with capers, garlic and oil. Albacore tuna melt was the bomb. Shrimp Louie salad was probably the best ever, so much crab. Topped off with the greatest piece of toasted coconut cream pie. Truly unbelievable. There are so many more items to choose from, and we will return. Be sure to budget for your visit. The only issue was the chronic odor in the men's room that needs to be attended to. A minor issue but noticeable.

Side Door Cafe, located in the picturesque Glen Eden Beach area outside of Lincoln City, Oregon, is my personal favorite restaurant in the world. It’s more than just a dining establishment for me; it’s a sanctuary where I can spend time reflecting on life, cherishing memories of those who have come before me, and finding solace in my own thoughts. Each visit feels like a warm embrace, thanks to the incredibly attentive staff who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is both inviting and serene, perfectly complementing the breathtaking coastal surroundings that offer healing and rejuvenation.
The food at Side Door Cafe is nothing short of exquisite. Each dish is crafted with creativity and care, making every meal a delightful experience. On my most recent visit, I indulged in a squash-inspired risotto that was bursting with flavor. The richness of the dish not only satisfied my palate but also uplifted my spirits, making it a truly memorable meal. And let’s not forget the outstanding wine selection that perfectly pairs with the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a quiet meal alone or a special occasion with loved ones, Side Door Cafe is a gem that never fails to impress. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort and culinary delight in a beautiful setting.

We ordered a salad and fettuccine to share.
They literally brought us two huge portions the same size of what they would serve one person.
Very generous. Very delicious.
Good quality is superb!

So 5 stars for food depending on what you order! This restaurant is far better than any other restaurant in that area and SO cute inside and very nice staff!! The 3rd time we've been there the normal chef must have been off (what I gathered from chatting with staff). I ordered the grilled ling cod over noodles. The lingcod had some breading and a sauce on it which I wasn't expecting being it's *grilled* lingcod and the noodles had no sauce....it was sooooo bland. I ask and got melted butter and lemon wedges just to give it flavor...so disappointing! On the other hand my husband got the new york (usually on the coast I would only order fish). His was fantastic! Served with prawns on top over mashed potatoes. Delicious. We also got the *West Coast* salad, also delicious!! The server gave us free dessert which was nice, but I'd be leary ordering fish again. (Id ask if the main chef was working) There you have it. My honest review. Yes I will go there again but will prob stick to steak.

We had the lingcod special on Friday night. It was crummy. Considering it's a local catch, whoever was in the kitchen mangled it, served it under a flavorless sauce on a plate that was haphazardly adorned with stringy, poorly seared pea pods (the waitress said "vegetable medley") and some fried potatoes that were on a par with Dairy Queen, but much saltier (we asked the waitress to bring ketchup, and if the lingcod hadn't been so crummy it might have been Friday night at Mel's Diner).
The dish was poorly created and ridiculously executed.
We've been going to Side Door for over a decade. This was the first crummy meal. It can't be easy to find someone who can cook, out here on the coast. But you might easily find a cook of this caliber or better in any radiator shop in east Portland.
That it was a Labor Day weekend Friday night, the reservations weren't hard to make less than a week ahead of the event. That might have been a clue. And the place didn't seem packed. The meal, such as it came, was way overpriced.
Hoping that a lackluster cook will carry you through until you find find better will end up costing you customers. It cost you this one.

Wow. Totally unexpected gem. Hidden away on a backstreet is central Oregon’s best. Great ambiance. Prompt customer focused staff and great food. We had the mushroom ravioli and the crab cakes with shrimp. Both excellent. Dakota tells me that the seafood is locally sourced. We finished the meal with brownies and ice cream and marion berry crisp. This is a place you need to experience.
Amazing food so much, so it made 5 stars for service and atmosphere! :)
I had halibut with some creamy crab sauce and roasted veggies. Drinks are also good the blueberry lemon drop was great.

This place is top notch. Great seafood. Great steaks and a wine list to satisfy all wine lovers. Let them know of your birthday or anniversary and they write a welcome message to you on the sidewalk as you enter. They treat you like family. I love this place!!

The food here is exquisite. On my last two dining experiences here, I have had the Chargrilled Salmon Salad, the Halibut, the Bouillabaise, and a couple of the desserts. The wine selections, predominantly local, are very good. Everything was exceptional! The atmosphere is cozy and creatively lit, the service was top notch, and the decor was artful without being kitschy or contrived. We look forward to our next opportunity to eat here.
