McMenamins Lighthouse Brewpub

This was such a disappointment. The staff simply stopped caring and it has a massive impact on the overall experience. We ordered a margarita and a beer at 4:27 and didn’t get them until 4:52. It was nearly empty… ordered some tots and they were so soaked in oil, we ended up leaving them. When we were asked if we were ready to order our entrees, it was nearly 6. Had to leave and ended up going to McDonalds. Super bummed. Hopefully I can post an update soon.

My favorite chowder on the Oregon coast. Our waitress Daphne was wonderful! She went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was perfect. We will be back!

We ate at 2 different restaurants every day while we were here for a week and this was by far all of our least favorite. Ticket time was so slow, about 45 minutes. One in our party asked for raspberry lemonade and was served a hard raspberry lemonade seltzer. Myself and 1 other ordered the crab mac n cheese. That is ABSOLUTELY NOT mac n cheese, its a watery alfredo sauce on overcooked pasta with a tiny bit of crab meat. Mac n cheese is supposed to start with a roux and include cheddar or jack cheese. Completely false description. We were very clear that one of our part has celiac. We called ahead and were informed that accommodations could definitely be made. We informed our server as well. This person ordered the bbq pizza on a GF crust. Our server didnt inspire a lot of confidence so after a while we approached the manager and asked if they could check the pizza was GF, she immediately ran back to the kitchen to check and come to find out, their BBQ sauce is made with their beer so it is NOT GF. I appreciate the manager for fixing this but after multiple discussions beforehand and being reassured, it was a let down. So please if anyone reads this that has dietary restrictions, I would not recommend this location. The kitchen staff seemed to be all teenagers as well which is fine but shows the lack of experience and knowledge. I wish they had been honest and said no they couldn't accommodate GF diets.

Reed was awesome!! We came in with a 7 top close to close, and he treated us amazing!! Food was excellent and his service was even better!

For a Saturday night it wasn’t busy at all yet waited about 10 minutes for a table. Not complaining, just an observation.

The mac n cheese and burgers were pretty bland, drinks were good though.

Two in our group got the chowder and raved about it so maybe that’s the thing to order.

Everything was fine but a bit overpriced for what we got, probably not going back.

Dear Management and Customer's

I am writing to formally share my experience at your establishment on [09/01/2025 at 10pm] with my girlfriend. While we have enjoyed positive visits in the past, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
• When we arrived, the supervisor on duty, Devin, did not acknowledge us and served others who arrived after us. We waited nearly 30 minutes before she returned to take our order.
• When I ordered food and two cocktails to go, I provided my valid ID, along with an additional form of identification. Devin then insisted that my girlfriend, who was not ordering alcohol, also present identification.
• Despite explaining that the drinks were for me and offering two forms of ID, she refused service, stating she would not serve anyone at our table unless my girlfriend also produced ID.
• I asked to speak with a manager. Devin stated she was the manager on duty. After waiting another 30 minutes, I was told again that no further escalation was possible and that she had the final say.

As a person of color, this treatment felt discriminatory. The refusal to serve me despite providing proper identification, gave the clear impression that I was being singled out unfairly. It was not just poor service; it carried the weight of a racist act.

I want to acknowledge that other staff members were respectful and professional, and that on previous visits we enjoyed both the food and the service. This negative experience was solely due to Devin’s conduct.

I respectfully request that management investigate this incident seriously. No customer should feel dismissed, disrespected, or discriminated against in your establishment.

Life changing bread bowl of clam chowder. I will never be the same.

Honestly the bartender Daphne was a little uppity... I tried multiple times to joke around and be friendly with her and she definitely showed her true colors when I ordered my last drink... I ordered a spicy bloody Mary and she made perfect the first time and the second one i ordered she made it with about 5 times the Tabasco or whatever she was putting in it. The server was top notch though which is why I gave 5 star on atmosphere he definitely could have improved on his service skills but again I have to down star the service based on Daphne and not the server.. my pregnant wife wanted to come down and order her drinks from the bartender thinking it would be a friendly person to get drinks from but I guess for a person who throws out the liability word consistently throughout her shift she really proved that she wasn't liable for A. How much alcohol was in that second drink. Or B how spicy she made it 🥵 would definitely recommend this place for food but if you want to drink at all you might as well go to the next bar and grill. Thanks for the first drink Daphne but I did not appreciate that second drink or the stunt you just tried to pull.

We had a great waiter! I had fish and chips and, honestly, they were the best fish and chips I've had in years! And the Ruby. Always satisfies.

If you know McMenamins then you expect unique designs and woodwork interiors for your brewery experience and it delivers (note the colorful fermention tanks)--only downside is location: strip mall.
Server was delightful. Exceptional hummus platter and best fish and chips we've had in awhile. McMenamins is a PNW favorite for a reason.

Turkey Sandwich was incredibly dry. It wasn't really slices of turkey, just chunks of partial slices.

The salad I requested blue cheese dressing, but they just put crumbles of blue cheese on it. There was no dressing.

My wife got the burger. Everything was so dry and covered with excessive ketchup.

My kid's pizza looked decent.

Decided to try and have our wedding rehearsal dinner here. We were worried because they don’t take reservations and there were 20 of us, but luckily it only took them about 15 minutes to find a spot for us and get us seated. Our family is a waitresses worst nightmare. And we know it! We have so many dietary restrictions and our grandma who is paying for the dinner can barely eat anything. So we always expect a few mistakes and a lot of frustration from our waitress or waiter. This was definitely not the case tonight! Our waitress Cari was not only patient with everyone of us. She got every single order perfect. Without all our special restrictions I know it’s hard to get 20 people‘s orders correct but she definitely did it! We never had to ask for a refill, she had a lot of great suggestions for those with restrictions and even grandma got to eat this time! Cari made one of us feel special and important. And the kids absolutely loved her! She is a definite asset to any restaurant and Mcmenemans is lucky to have her. We just wanted to write this review to thank her for her amazing attitude and accuracy. And Man was she fast!

Average bar but overpriced. I think they had a $5 beer deal, but it was a small glass. Food was covered in oil but priced as if it were fresh. Meh.

This place left a lot to be desired. We ordered via Door Dash while in town and our poor Dasher waited 30 mins for our order on a Monday well after dinner rush. Our burger sliders were so undercooked it was crazy and had so little sauce on them. The pepperoni pizza was not cut well and was sloppily made. Beyond the presentation it just didn’t taste good. We would not order from here again or visit the restaurant.
