Food is way overpriced and the fish and chips were so soggy we had to toss them out at the hotel and order food from another place.

My husband and I recently visited Zeller’s to celebrate our Anniversary/ Babymoon. First we came for dinner, which did not disappoint in the slightest. I had one of the best steaks I have ever had in a restaurant, paired with the most delicious, and thick clam chowder. I also had a side salad, mashed potatoes and carrots with the meal, all wonderful. We loved it so much we came back the next day for breakfast, after having a less than suitable breakfast the day before at pig n pancake. Husbands Chicken fried steak was on point and my French toast was just simply wonderful served with a strong cup of coffee. Everything you would want in a restaurant. I’m lucky I don’t live closer or they would be getting all my money!
Down to earth crowd, very good service, always there to please their customers. Very family oriented dining for all ages.Highly recommend zellers!
Food was satisfying, but despite not being busy (about 3 of the 12 tables occupied)our order was incorrect when it came to the table. It was corrected promptly and we were not charged for the incorrect items

I used to love coming here but the service has become horrible. We came in earlier today and was told the clam chowder was a lunch item, which was fine, we had some errands before leaving town. But when we did come back for lunch to make a To go order, the woman working thankfully recognized us again since we were there earlier. She addressed us and talked about the clam chowder and then just never came back. It was 30mins at least of waiting at the bar to make a to go order and there was so many people working that just ignored us. Another person was waiting about 20mins to get their card back too and when they asked, the woman working the coffee just rudely said they were busy that morning. Unbelievable service, we just ended up leaving. Will never be returning. It wasn't even that busy, half the tables in there were empty.
I'm mostly at a loss of words because this feels like a kid wrote this? Is this business okay? While I was waiting that entire time, I didn't hear anything or see anything relating to hot syrup. I hope the people that got hurt are okay. But what right do you have to assume that I knew about this and why are you put that on a random customer??? That is an entirely separate manner and I understand accidents and bad days happen but this response is ridiculous. It's wild that I thought to maybe give you guys a second chance, but this response solidifies my decision. Please note if anyone has bothered to read this far into this review, just look at other reviews, plenty of other people have just had to leave because the staff just ignored potential customers that wait for however long, us it was 30 minutes, before we gave up. The service is just hit or miss at this place and that is just something to keep in mind unfortunately. I really do hope those hurt are okay. And for the rude person that wrote that reply your passive aggressive response is ignorant.

August 2024: It was painful I had to give this less than 5 stars because this place has some of the best food I've had in Lincoln City. Which is especially impressive because eating good food is half the reason I come to Lincoln City. In fact, when I first found this place I was so impressed by the food I had to order another serving to go immediately after taking my first few bites. The first time I've ever done that.
That being said, when I tried to bring my friends back to show this place off to them, I couldn't believe how horrible the service was. It started with us not getting any waters and needing to wait about 10 minutes before anyone took our order. Which was odd because the place was maybe at 50% capacity tops.
A couple of my friends ordered drinks, one regular coke and one coke zero. When the waitress arrived, she said she forgot which drink was which and wanted us to have to figure it out instead of bringing us new drinks. Which was extremely weird because she had no idea if we were close enough to be testing each others drinks like that. The friend that got coke zero needed to have multiple people drink out of his cup because he had to make sure there was no sugar in his drink for health reasons. So he basically had to drink a cocktail of our backwash.
Next, when she was giving us our food, she gave one of my friends a cobb salad when he ordered a Caesar salad. He immediately told her it was the wrong order only to have her go "I know, please understand it was my mistake". Insinuating that she knew it was the wrong order and that he should just be expected to eat it anyways. He said that he would like the salad he actually ordered, so she takes the salad but assures him the dressing on the side is Caesar Salad dressing and that she doesn't need to bring out a new dressing. Which doesn't make any sense at all, because how did she get the dressing right but not the salad? Why would she still bring out Caesar dressing if she was hoping he would eat the cobb salad? Not that it matters because my friend tasted it and confirmed that it was indeed ranch and not the Caesar dressing.
My friend ended up just telling her to cancel his salad order because it wasn't worth the trouble. If you get the order wrong, you remake the order. Not just hope he will tolerate you brining out an entirely different salad. The customer shouldn't need to convince you to bring him the correct salad and dressing.
After the fiasco, the waitress didn't come to our table again. She gave us weird stares from across the room and that was about as much contact we had with her again. We ended up needing to ask a completely different waitress for our check because our first one didn't seem up to giving it to us. It's crazy how pretty much all the common courtesy's you expect from a regular restaurant went out the window. No offer to comp anything was a real kicker. I thought maybe they couldn't afford to offer it, which would've been understandable but I'm seeing other people in these reviews getting comped drinks so I'd love to understand why we weren't offer any.
I feel the need to iterate that this is some of the best coast food I've ever had. In fact, this place may have the single best clam chowder I've ever had. The cooks are absolutely phenomenal despite getting extremely bad service I am still willing to give this place 3 stars. And if service improves I'm still willing to change this to a 5 star review. That being said, I am also willing to change this to a 1 star review depending on if the owner replies with the negative attitude I've seen in other reviews.
Edit November 2024: I tried to give this place a second chance. But today I spent about 30 minutes trying to get someone to take my order. The staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered to even greet us let alone take our business. If you

The clam chowder was excellent (better than many others in the area) as was the fish and chips! We also got a burger with a gluten free bun and very much appreciated when the staff let us know the fries were not gluten free and offered sweet potato fries as an alternative at no additional charge! Service was excellent and fast and the food was delicious. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are in town!

We have been going to this place for years, many years as Maxwell's was always our go to for breakfast. Have been a few times since it changed and was fine. Went today in the bar for breakfast and cocktails sadly we sat at a table long enough that someone not the bartender brought over menus. When the bartender came back into the bar he did not acknowledge us and then was eating his food instead of even acknowledgment. Thanks but no thanks! We left and we will take our business someplace else and we did and received great service, great food.

I just started going to this restaurant. Nothing is bad. All the dishes I've tried are amazing. I especially like their biscuits & gravy. Also, Best clam chowder in Lincoln City. Moe's is trash compared to Zeller's.

Great place, awesome food, friendly folks. Perfect location and the restaurant is split with a family-friendly atmosphere on one side and a bar on the other

Unfortunately, my wife and I stopped by this bar to have a couple of drinks recently. Never once was I waited on, and I had to go up to the bar to order our drinks. Upon purchase, I was not given any "thank you". As a customer, this bar is not even capable of giving you the common courtesy of saying "hello" or even a "thank you". It's obvious that I would get better customer service from any Oregon gas station than I would from this place. -Brad
