Clay’s Smokehouse, now located on King Rd, offers a cozy dining area with a parking lot and a nice building. The menu is limited but features popular items like ribs and chicken. The combo plate with slaw and beans, cornbread, sweetened butter, and pickles was a hit. The beans were homemade and slightly spicy, while the slaw was a nice contrast. The sauce had good heat and the rub was flavorful. The napkins were also a plus. The brisket is highlighted as some of the best ever tasted, rivaling BBQ from Texas and Louisiana. The deep-fried potato wedges and cornbread were also praised, although the mac and cheese was a bit dry. Customers look forward to returning to Clay’s Smokehouse for more delicious BBQ.
