It's a pretty solid café in Milwaukie with food comparable to decent diners in Portland. Their menu isn't super comprehensive but they do have unique offerings including polenta bowls. Unfortunately when I visited, they were out of polenta, though they offered a satisfactory substitution with the same ingredients as a breakfast sandwich. Prices are mostly fair for the quality of food you get, and the atmosphere is casual and chill, it's a spacious and well-decorated restaurant.

Waited an hour for a super simple meal. They had it ready to go but never brought it out. Super disappointing service

Our third time at Milwaukie Café for breakfast and it wasn't as good as before - it was outstanding our first time in 2023. They still have strong dishes, such as the Breakfast Sando (get the pork shoulder), but the Smash Hash was simply ok, with brisket coming in a bit dry, and just a few pieces, with a full dish of potatoes. Not exactly a hardy protein meal. The coffee is good, with lattes being better than the mocha. They're still miles above breakfast joints such as Bertie Lou's and Toast. But there was magic happening here a few years ago. We hope it was an off day. We'll swing back around to try it again later in the year.

Dietary restrictions: No gluten-free options.

Kid-friendliness: Fairly kid friendly for well behaved children.

40 minutes to deliver a simple dish, first and last.

The staff was very friendly. The ginger chai was deliciously spicy. I even got a fresh out of the oven muffin!
The few downsides was how cold it was in there. I sat there for about an hour, and my toes were getting so cold. Also, they have no wifi, which is maybe because they’re more of a restaurant style than a coffee shop.

I'm addicted to their biscuits. Just bought 6 on Saturday to feed relatives from out of town. Everyone loved them, of course. Fine bunch of folks here!

Had the French toast and bacon - 5/5!!! Came out piping hot and buttery. Not dry at all and flavors were on point!!

Fantastic brisket, fantastic biscuit, and fantastic collards (truly) —— all in a down-to-earth setting that feels like a slice of pre-nonsense PDX. Only complaint (and we mean it) is that the plates themselves are way too small to serve these biscuit dishes on. Please put them on a fuller-sized plate so there's actually room to cut-and-fork them!

I would go here more if they had better ventilation.

Love that there's a designated spot for dogs to be tied up outside that's away from the street. The food is always good and the staff are attentive.

Holy moly these are next level breakfast sandwiches! You can get a breakfast sandwich that suits anyone from ones that read more like a sandwich on a biscuit to others with the straight up breakfast basics. We had such a hard time deciding in the best way. We went with a smoked chicken sandwich that had arugula, fried onions, and just a whole bevy of other great things not including egg which we don’t eat and we’re excited to see wasn’t included. we also went for some of the sides and loved the grits and quadruple love the collard greens. I can’t wait to try more items atthis spot.
