Great food, friendly employees, everything you would want, in a Mexican food restaurant. Yummy!!Vegetarian options: No meat in these dishes, but full of good taste.Dietary restrictions: Let them know, what ya need, they will follow along, to fulfill your requested needs.Parking: Harder to get a spot during their busier dinner times, but otherwise, no parking issues.Kid-friendliness: Kid's friendly, atmosphere, in the main restaurant dining room.Wheelchair accessibility: Curbside up to the doors, are flat, up to the doors, for the wheelchair access needs.

Always a good local Mexican-US staple. With only one exception everything was as good as expected. I ordered the Chiles Rellenos & the flavor was very timid. They were made from scratch with fresh ingredients, presented nicely, & really had my mouth watering. However, they hit my taste buds with a lackluster, rather bland flavor.Again, with only that one exception, the meal was very good.

Solid aesthetic, vibe and exceptional service, like beyond attentive staff, so 5 stars for that.As a native Arizonan, a half hour away from the Mexico border, it’s going to take a lot to impress me with Mexican food. El Tapatio was no exception, and no impression.Subpar, canned south of the border food. But. The beans and rice were top notch. Kids meals are exceptionally valued, and large. They give you free chips and salsa which is quite rare in the PNW, even though it’s standard in the Southwest. Only caveat, they’re not the thin, crispy, salty variety you’re craving, they’re the thicker, dense, fried in old oil kind. Total bummer.I much prefer the carnitas at Rigoberto’s or even Chipotle, I know, shoot me now. But seriously, when all you taste is the actual animal meat, sans seasoning. No thank you. The beef tacos were drenched in liquid taco seasoning, and the green sauce was straight up sour canned flavor. But. Those rice and beans. Definitely not the usual PDX Mexican flair, definitely more of an attempt at authenticity. And again, stellar service.

I absolutely love this spot. The food is always satisfying and deliciously prepared, the music and atmosphere is a perfect vibe for date night, game day, or any time you wanna share a meal with someone honestly. Lovely family style dining in the restaurant, excellent music and TV entertainment in the bar. I always look forward to an evening at El Tapatio!
