When I decided to go to Mackey's public House I was hoping that they had shepherd's pie. They had cottage pie (more English than irish. It was extremely rich. My friend had the fish and chips. They smelled amazing. Would definitely go there again.

Waited 5-10 minutes and no one in sight, until finally a server came from downstairs and didn’t even acknowledge me or the guy behind me, didn’t even bother staying with that crappy customer service

The food is pretty much standard for the genre, irish pub grub. Unfortunately they do not treat their customers evenly or fairly, and unapologetically so. For instance, order takeout, show up when you're told to do so, told it will be another 5. 10 minutes, 15 minutes later, you see people who walked in after you getting their food now. Find the hostess what's going on? And she now says walkins always jump ahead of deliveries and they got a lot of walkins. But your takeout order is finally getting started now...
Not the first time this has happened here I realised, she just finally admitted what they're been doing.
To me that's clearly unacceptable and I don't plan to go back.

Great drinks, awesome food, super friendly staff & amazing atmosphere!! Took a half day trip with a group of friends and we had a great time! They have some great slot machines too! A few of us lost (still had fun) but one of our people hit for just under $1000!
Was a great place to grab a bite to eat! My Mom and I had a full day of doctor's appointments 2.5 hours away from home and just wanted a nice little place to eat and it was perfect. Super friendly staff and good food!

The owners are wonderful people that always Welcome everyone. The salmon's my favorite plate,plus there's music on the patio/ with trivia on Wednesday nights. The Pub downstairs is a sweet spot, and my safe place. I'll drive 90 miles to come have dinner, knowing ill always have the best time. Love everyone here.

This place is amazing. If you want to get a real feel for eastern Oregon culture and the people, this is a place to come. But more importantly, the food is off the charts amazing. Like, are you kidding me amazing!! The spinach artichoke dip is world-class. The grilled cheese sandwich will make you cry. The salads are great, everything is beautifully prepared, wonderfully coupled with, just super high-quality food and cooking Can’t Wait to go back and try everything on the menu over a period of months. I wish someone would write an article about this place.
