I went here because of the other reviews the chicken looked sensational. When we got there we were given menus and told we could sit anywhere. One woman was working hard! Terry was her name. She was PHENOMENAL. She was on top of her game helping about 8 tables alone. She was sweet and quick with our order and receipt! We ordered a 6C which was orange chicken and white rice. And teriyaki chicken dinner with fried rice. I don’t like fried rice as much, but this fried rice was fresh and the pork was cooked perfectly. The teriyaki was my husbands and it did have more onion than he would’ve liked, I’d have to agree, the onion was to much, but we just set it aside! His meal was $12.75 about and mine was also 12.75. I ordered a to-go for my sister of orange chicken and white rice which was the same amount. Paid $41 for three orders! Sprite was fresh, dr proper was great! The decor is lacking, only because it’s more outdated. But it’s not the decor I’m worried about, which is why I gave it 5 stars! The orange chicken batter was THICK, and buttery. It was absolutely fabulous. I couldn’t get enough! My husbands teriyaki was cooked through and super tender as well. Everything was clean. All in all, this place is like a mom and pop shop. It’s a hidden gem at the back of Ontario that you NEEED TO TRY!! Everything is cooked fresh!

Don't eat here Dirty. Not clean in kitchen. Winne & Wayne Owner. The the frozen chicken defrost in hot tap water. Over night. Then let the chicken sit out on counter all day. Until it turns yellow. Dishwasher machine is nasty. Mold inside it. They use lard in deep fryer.

I've eaten in Chinese restaurants all over the United States and I must say...the lemon chicken here is the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant is somewhat of a dive but the staff has always been personable and friendly. I've been and will continue to be a happy customer.

Omg the food here is amazing. Was so good and filling. The staff was so sweet and nice. Can't wait to go back when I'm Ontario. We went im guessing at an off time as there was only us and 1 other couple, and a few hours later, it was very busy. Recommend here hands down.

Egg Foo Young was great the chow mean is a joke all cabbage and onions no bean sprouts no celery , the stuff n a can at the grocery store is better the shrimp is fair and the place was not busy either Over all what a joke I forgot to mention it was cashew pork chowmein or chicken I can't remember what ever it was it was shreds what a joke since they forgot

Year in year out Shanghai delivers good quality Chinese food. We've been eating here for 45+ years and you can count on the food being the same as the last time you ate there. The staff is always efficient and friendly. Dining room is always clean. Doesn't matter if you take out or dine in you get the same quantities and quality.
BEWARE THE MSG! Just passing through, had a tire with a slow leak on my RV. The guys at the tire shop recommended Shanghai. I first ordered hot and sour soup and egg rolls. The soup arrived first, and tasted neither hot nor sour. However it DID taste like MSG (which makes me very ill.). So I asked if the soup had MSG - yes, and so do their eggrolls. I then asked which dishes do NOT contain MSG. The only answer was steamed rice and Mandarin chicken, which was tender and nicely prepared with a flaky batter. If there had been a disclosure about their use of MSG on the menu, I would have left without ordering. Most places have discontinued using this toxic food additive - what a shame this one still substitutes MSG for high quality ingredients. :-(

After living here nearly 5 yrs, we found our go to for Chinese. We used DoorDash so I can only review the food. We ordered the B dinner for 2 and liked everything! We’ve tried all the other Chinese restaurants in Ontario and Payette, we enjoyed the food here the most!
