Stiff drinks even stiffer fries, rustic charm, very good battery powered WiFi

I understand it’s a pub but there were 4 over served local regulars that were shouting and unbelievably raunchy. Like they needed a room. It was 3 pm and they were way past drunk. It was asinine. Made our meal miserable.

The local dory caught ling cod was really good. Would highly recommend it. Super crispy and not greasy. Good cider on tap. The scallops were awful. Slimy and not sure if they were a real scallop. I’d pass on those for sure. Service was what you’d expect for a local watering hole.

I would try to go back and if the drunk locals were there I’d just turn around and leave and go up the street. Not worth the drama.

Great place

Enjoyed the chowder..not too thick or thin with good amount of clams. Two of us also had the local caught fish and it was very bland but flaky. The coleslaw was dry and a very small portion. The fries are good but everything is served on a plastic tray with a piece of paper thats all wet and tearing before your finished eating. Bathroom was unkept. Our server seemed to be the slowest one there...and was also bartending ..took forever to get chowder...think she forgot about us. Also guys at table next to us spitting tobacco spit (in beer can ) but still sickening when trying to eat.

The local spot you’ll regret you missed.

In from Arizona, we were soaking up the Oregon coast. On my BIL’s birthday, we explored the area, ignoring time until the sun was setting. But birthday dinner beckoned. Most places? Closing soon. Panic pushed us to Safeway, the last resort of desperate diners. Dreams of birthday fish & chips gone with the invisible sun.

At the 11th hour (almost literally), a beacon pierced the mist. “Michelle F.” on Yelp proclaimed, “The fish & chips are off the charts!”

We almost drove past the understated signage. As we dodged pool sticks and scanned for seating etiquette, Jerry The Bartender handed us menus - not even skipping a beat in his conversation with an old timer. We found a table and looked around. Betting odds? We were the only ones who didn’t live in the area. It was perfect.

Jerry was the consummate host - attentive and with a good mix of humor and irreverence. We thought he was local, but apparently emigrated from Washington. He helped us celebrate the birthday in a perfect way. The fish and chips? Michelle, our pathfinder, was right. Off the charts.

Very friendly service, bartender was funny and gave great suggestions and a tasty hef sample. Good local vibes and a lot of regulars and some pool table action. Fish and chips were solid with lots of dipping sauce options.

Had a great time here for lunch. Robert behind the bar was as cool as the other side of the pillow. The beers are served in frosty mugs. The fish and chips were excellent as was the slaw. Good tunes and people too. Thanks Kyle from Headlands for the recommendation!
