Oar House Bar & Grill

my partner and i are currently in a relentless pursuit of the best fish and chips dish along the coast of oregon, which has been quite a caper indeed. having eaten a cornucopia of fish and chip facsimile, i was well-prepared to conduct another investigation here at the oar house bar & grill. we ordered the clam chowder and caesar salad, as well as the tuna poke. as luck would have it, i wore my new blue shirt purchased from a near-out-of-business adventure outfitter and was comfortable in my seat throughout the lunch. we had been sat on the patio, where a stiff breeze blew. or, is it in the patio amidst the resolute winds? the restaurant is located on the far side of the road from the river, but you can see a red canoe go by if you look for it.

We had to get a reservation for our large group. The food was good, the service was friendly and it was a nice dinner.

I think this place is a diamond in the rough! The food was soooo good, Service Amazing, and the atmosphere was fun! I started with the calamari fries, and they were the biggest pieces of calamari I've ever had. I always order calamari at any place we dine if it's on the menu, and this was by far the best! For my entrée I had the fish and chips and man was it fresh and yummy! The pieces of fish were huge and cooked to perfection. Also lets talk about those jojos! So crispy and delicious! This good was better than the Pelican by far especially portion size! Our service was quick fast and kind! I will definitely be back!!

Got the chowder in a bread bowl to go, asked for the bread on the side but they put the chowder in before sending it out. First time I have been served a bread bowl to go with the soup already in the bread bowl.

It probably would have been a lot better if it wasn't put in the bread to go.

After a disappointing experience at a restaurant across the street, we decided to give this place a try—and wow, are we glad we did! Everything about this dining experience was exceptional from start to finish.

The food was absolutely amazing. Every single person in our group walked away impressed and satisfied. Not one dish missed the mark. The oyster shooters were massive and packed with flavor—definitely a standout. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices were more than fair. You really get incredible value here.

What truly made the night memorable, though, was the outstanding service. Our server, Rebecca, was phenomenal—genuinely kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel right at home and took the entire experience to another level. The wine selection was also excellent and perfectly paired with our meal.

This restaurant far exceeded our expectations and completely turned our vacation dining experience around. We ended up coming back multiple times. Highly, highly recommend!

Lived in Pacific city for a while and finally tried this place. The challenges are the hours - when is it actually open!?

I finally saw it open and went in and got an elk burger at the bar. Place was empty. The burger was too peppery for my taste and before I was even done eating the bartender tried to take my food twice and rush me out. I was mid bite and he asked me if I was ready to have my plate cleared. I felt so uncomfortable I couldn’t finish eating.

Customer service in PC is not good but this place really takes the cake.

Get the Lasagna!!! We have been eating seafood all week, so I asked the wait person what locals eat. She recommended a few things, and the house made Lasagna with red sauce stuck in my head. It was the right choice. Next time we are in Pacific City, I'll have to come eat here again for sure.

We had breakfast this Sunday morning and it was so delicious. French toast was perfection. Chorizo scramble was hearty and just a bit spicy and the corned beef hash was a treat. We will be back!!

This place was absolutely terrible 10/10 do not recommend i thought I saw a rat an when I tried talking what I thought was the lady in charge she called me a lair an told me to leave the restaurant as well as giving me no refund I have never been so discusseded an disrespected in my life I feel so bad for anyone working in this hostile environment. I hope she doesn't talk to all her customers like this. If I could give zero starts i would
