Hamley Review We have eaten at Hamley several times in the past, 2015,2016 time frame. Service was stellar and the food fantastic! This was the total opposite of what we expected. Our Dinner Club meets monthly and we all eagerly awaited this meal. Never again, it was horrible. To start, my wife and I arrived at 6:10, for our 6:30 reservation, and let the hostess know we could wait in the bar if necessary. The restaurant and bar were not busy by any means, lots of empty tables and seats. She seated us immediately though, which was nice. But we sat there ignored until 6:40 before I could flag down a waitress to ask for water and place a drink order! Our waitress arrived a few minutes later and took our drink order, and disappeared. 30 minutes later she came back and asked to take our dinner order. I asked where our drinks were, and she stated they were coming, that the bar was extremely busy. It was not....... We gave our dinner order, and our drinks finally arrived. One of the drinks was a mistake, and had to be sent back. The ice in my drink was nearly melted from sitting on the bar for way too long....... Our Caesar salads arrived, and drowning in dressing! Absolutely inedible. The waitress came and took them away, and said she would take them off the bill. The entree arrived, delivered by a young man, not our waitress. I and another member had the prime rib. He had ordered his medium rare, and it came more on the bloody rare side, while I had ordered mine medium, and it came more well done. But we were starving, and decided to just suck it up and eat it. The garnish vegetables on the plate( carrot and something else) were burnt beyond recognition ( pictures attached), and covered in a greasy sauce, but surprisingly cold! The meat itself was not very warm, and flavorless. Again, we did not choose to send them back, opting to cut our losses and just finish and get out of there. On a positive note, those that had French fries were very happy with
They were out of both wines that are still on the wine list which made it frustrating when both times, they suggested their private label house wine as a substitute. Our appetizer and bread was not warm. Our waitress was outstanding and did her best. The building in beautiful. We'll give it another try next time; every business can have a bad day.
We had 7 people for a birthday party. 4 dinners came out together the other 3 were 8 minutes later. Disappointing. Then a 20% gratuity is already added to your bill!
I would not waste your hard earned dollars on eating here. I had to send my steak back overcooked everything was cold on the plate potatoes vegetables the vegetables have been sitting in a bowl for how long you couldn't even tell what they were because the colors became all one black. The dipping sauces were cold. Talk about over salting everything had more salt on it than you could eat such a shame for a history of this place, especially with the store next-door of such high-quality items and then you go eat here and I talk to a couple locals and they said they would rather cook a hamburger at home then to eat a steak at that restaurant But on the other hand, the waitress was fantastic. She was very understanding and polygenic, but I wanted to let her know that she had nothing to do with it. It was all in the kitchen. I will not be back.
Place was almost empty. Hostess made us wait 4-5 minutes to be seated. Waited another 5 minutes for a waitress to show up. Rolls were dried out/stale, one steak was way over cooked and was sent back and we waited about 20 minutes for our main course to be served. Have been there many times and the service has steadily declined over the past couple of years as has the food. Consider it way over priced for what should be a great steak. Not anymore sadly. Used to be outstanding.
Drinks were really good. Service was kind, but slow. Bread was not very warm. Salad had brown pieces of lettuce (yuck). Steak cooked correctly to order, but underseasoned. Side veggies very overcooked. I think due to the slow service, the plate sat under the warmer for too long. Overall, generous portions. Ordered peach cobbler; it came out barely warm. (The rolls and peach cobbler barely warm could have been the slow service). Overall, spent $200 in Pendleton for disappointing food (3 people: 2 adults and one 15 yo). Not worth the money. Next time we may stop by for pre-dinner drinks, then go somewhere else for dinner.
Best place to eat in Pendleton. All the steaks are prime beef. Well prepared. Good bar. Good desserts. Friendly, efficient staff.
Ribeye was of very good quality and well prepared. The side veg was only average and the fingerling spuds average. Service was cheerful and swift.
Steak and potato was so dry that I had to drown my steak in A1 just to eat it. We waiting a good 45 to 50 min for our food. I like my steaks Medium to Medium Well to where it's not bleeding but still pink all the way through. My steak didn't have even a sliver of pink! This was my first time here and I had high hopes but That was the worst steak I have ever had. I didn't ask for a new steak because we already waited so long that we didn't want to wait any longer! But our server was the nicest you could ask for.
Really interesting place! We sat in the bar area to watch a game. Great brunch! Great service.

I have come to Hamley's Steakhouse for many years as it is kinda my happy place being a Ranch Horse person! We were in town for a Celebration of life weekend. Originally I made a reservation for just 2 us as I wanted to treat my niece from Tennessee, but when folks at the Ranch found out we were coming to Hamley's we all agreed we needed to raise a glass to the special one we just lost who was a well known Horse Trainer etc.... I called to see if we could add 8 to reservation which was in one hour.... The hostess was great and said to come on! Then more folks found out and just kept showing up! It was crazy as Hamley's staff just kept adding tables and smiling! In the end we had at least 22 people, we had a great lunch, had a few awesome toast's and the staff took a group photo that we will all have forever! It was a memorable addition to our weekend, and the care, good food and handling this this request on a moments notice was the Hamley's way! I send Hugs and Thanks to you all!! xoxox
Dominique was fabulous! We shared every dish and she always had extra plates ready. The coconut shrimp was fabulous. Try that alongside the berry salad! Prime rib was solid, but a tad salty. Take any extra meat home with some rolls and make sliders!!!
The atmosphere is impressive and comfortable. The food was excellent, and at a reasonable price. Our server was terrific.
We come to Hamley‘s Steakhouse every time we stay in Pendleton. Sadly, we will no longer do so. Although we had made reservations, we were seated just adjacent to a very loud and boisterous group, although there was additional seating elsewhere. We've had the same server the last two times we've dined at Hamley‘s. Both times she appeared distracted and it was hard for us to get her attention. Food: Crab Cakes - B, Steak - A, Baked Potato - C, Vegetables- F, Crème Brûlée - B+ the baked potato was not entirely cooked, and it had some black spots, which the prep team should've seen. The vegetables were so overdone they were inedible. This establishment has seen a steady decline under the new management. Consider eating elsewhere.
We all love Hamleys! The food is the best and the atmosphere is amazing. Our favorite place to go! We travel and hour and 20 minutes to go there!
