Good honest food, dinner came with bread, soup then main course, nice laid back atmosphere, also espresso drinks, got a mocha to go and it was very good

I don't usually go out for Italian dinner cuz I am Italian but this was amazing and my babies 50th birthday . Favorite was the chocolate pistachio cheesecake. My guy was so happy. Special thanks for letting us in! I can't wait to come back.

Good food, only advice is to consider this is a small boutique cafe so I don’t recommend if you’re hungry or in a hurry. Expect to spend 90min for your experience.

The food was amazing. The potato leek soup was one of the best I've ever had. The restaurant also had a lovely ambience, and the prices were very reasonable. The server we had was great, and she gave us a great wine recommendation for our meal too.

This place serves very good Italian food but it is not fast. (It’s a small, family operation.) Expect a leisurely meal and you’ll be pleased. The prices are very reasonable, too. Food: mostly pasta dishes, vegetarian friendly, generous portions. Delicious, fresh bread. Good desserts — the ice cream sunday with house-made caramel sauce was delicious. (Other options include cranberry cheesecake and cappuccino cheesecake.)

All fleshly made items and cooked to order. We travel hours to eat at Cafe Gemma and the food and experience are always superb! Cant recommend strongly enough if you want to slow down and really enjoy the best meal you are likely to find anywhere. And our desserts were as good as we've ever had! Tanti grazie Cafe Gemma!

Wow, wow, wow. Amazingly good Italian food tucked away in the little town of Port Orford. Be prepared for a bit of a wait with the food - it seems that they are on a small staff. Laura our server was a one woman army who provided amazing service as busy as she was.
My wife and I love good food - this place does not disappoint. 5 stars all the way!

A must if in southern Oregon, Bandon or Gold Beach is worth the drive to Port Orford. Gemma's is named after the owner's Grandmother's and are her recipes. The owner Maurisa is the chef! It has the atmosphere of being in someone's home for a special occasion or the holidays. Next time I visit my son I'll be back

First timer .. I'll be back ... had the spinach farfalla ! Wow ! The in-house bread ... salad so fresh. I sat back by the kitchen and watched the pasta being made! Incredible friendly service.

This dining experience was 10 out of 5 stars from start to finish. In the middle of nowhere Oregon, this restaurant is doing everything right and is worth a trip from anywhere. Excellent cuisine, excellent service, fabulous ambiance. From the fresh focaccia served with drinks, to the home made desserts to finish - everything was excellent. HIGHLY recommend.

Amazing little gem in the heart of Port Orford. Food was amazing and the staff was so friendly. Was worried it would be too fancy (we had been on the beaches along the coast all day) but it just felt very homey and comfortable. I will definitely make a point of stopping here when I am in the area again!

Our first and only experience at Cafe Gemma was pretty awful. I'm surprised to read all the good reviews. But I guess any restaurant can have an off night.
We were there for 2.5 hours--no appetizers, no dessert--just sitting waiting for entrees. One of the dishes, a chicken parmesan, came out charred black on top (and the chicken was dry). I had an entree salad that was acceptable, but not at all interesting--mostly just lettuce and tomatoes and a few dried slices of chicken. The other two dishes were OK.
What really annoyed me about the place is that no one apologized for the very, very long wait for dinner, the burned parmesan, or the fact that one of our meals came 15 minutes after the other three.
Yeah, I guess it could just have been a bad night, but we're not going to give Gemma another chance, mainly because they never apologized or tried to make things right. What a shame, since Port Orford doesn't have many dinner options. We've never been impressed with Redfish, but it wasn't as bad as Gemma.
