Best seafood experience in this small quaint seaside village !
Delicious. Also we like sassy!
Ate here for the 1st time in 3 years. After Griff's closed, we would get food from a competitor, drive down to the dock and eat it there. That competitor closed last month so we decided to give The Crazy Norwegians another try.
Our visit was on a Wednesday, not long after they opened for the day. It wasn't busy so our 2 shrimp melts and tater tots were delivered to our vehicle in about 15 minutes. We expected to wait closer to an hour based on past visits.
We took the minute or 2 to drive to the dock and opened up our food.
We did not get even a single packet of ketchup, or any condiment, for our tater tots. Every place we have eaten on the Oregon Coast has included condiment packets for to go orders without being asked.
My husband's shrimp melt was so hot, he had to wait to eat it. It came with a pickle spear. His tater tots were crispy, golden brown and hot but he said they were too salty and only ate 3. He said ketchup would have cut the saltiness.
My shrimp melt was just warm. Mine also came with a pickle spear. My tater tots were dry, not crispy, not soggy, not firm to the touch, not browned at all, and were cool to the touch. The single tot I tried was cold in the center, soft, crumbled into pieces, and had no seasoning. I have made a few dishes where I thaw tater tots to use and the tater tots I got with my shrimp melt reminded me of uncooked, thawed tater tots - not saying that's what I got, just what they reminded me of.
The shrimp melts were good, lots of bay shrimp and swiss cheese, almost no dressing. But for the price we paid for what amounted to 2 shrimp melts (1 hot and 1 just warm) and 2 pickle spears, we could have gone to Bandon and had 2 orders of fish and chips and 2 cups of clam chowder and still had money left over for a tip.
Very home like vibe. The food was great. Fish Sandwich, Hamburgers, and Chowder.
Windy as ever since the hurricane winds from Hawaii were blowing into the So. OR coast, yet it was busy! All the inside seating was full, so we sat outside. The problem we had was our order got pushed back behind several people who came in after us.
At least when I went up to the order counter outside and asked, he went and got it himself, and it was HOT! Delicious fish and chips!! My husband got the clam chowder, but it was only okay. We realize that no restaurant makes their chowder with enough cream or even half and half, which takes it to the next level if flavor and taste. And that's okay. We'll stay with ordering the fish. No oily flavors, which means so much. We definitely will stop again.

Like thousands before me, I came for the fish & chips. After watching videos and reading reviews online the hype was real.
The fish was fantastic. Crispy yet flakey and flavorful. This dish was clearly a taste of the pacific, and truly a staple on the coast that you should definitely visit. The fries complimented the fish very well, and are clearly an important part of what they do here.
I know this place has a bunch of reviews on their fish & chips, but for good reason. Great job crew.
i was going to order the chicken strips because I figured that they would batter them fresh like they do in out the fish, but I was told they purchase them pre- breaded. This, I got a bacon burger (no cheese) with fries.
I was impressed with how moist the burger was, how the bun still had some integrity and held up. The patty is made in-house. It was an ideal thickness and moist. Well seasoned.
The bacon was some of the best bacon I’ve had on a burger in a while. It was crisp and meaty, and was a good thickness where you could still taste it amongst all the other toppings.
The lettuce, onion, and tomato were fresh and of sufficient quality.
I believe it was just mayo on the bum for sauce, but it was good.
The fries were the perfect combo of crisp and soft. Very well seasoned and I enjoyed the thickness. The best mainstream fry that I can compare to would be a Red Robin fry, but these are seasoned with just salt.
The pasta salad was good. It came with my boyfriend’s meal, not my own. But I tasted it and enjoyed it
Overall, I will come back when I’m town.
Excellent food and super service. The fish and chips shouldn't be missed.
One of the few eateries in town. Very small area with few tables. The food was fried, but good.
Waited 30 mins at the table nobody took my order, another dude walked in not getting seated forever then left. they kept looking at me from the kitchen and eventually I went across the street to the dive and had a beer in my hand and conversing with the staff instantly. Fish and chips there were great

And best clam chowder in the West Coast hands down between Washington and LA. No kidding. I drive 8 hours just to eat there! Oh, and I almost forgot about the seasonal berry pies!

Dietary restrictions: I'm guessin' that if you're on a diet, you may want to avoid it. But, if you love deep fried food. You'd be hard pressed to find better.

Cozy, local, comfort food. Sourdough chowder bowl was homemade and amazing after a long day exploring the Redwoods. Fish and chips was hot, crispy, and generous servings. Coconut cream pie was unique and tasty. Great place, we will definitely be back!
