Is this place EVER open?

Vegetarian options: I found myself eating shrubbery outside the building after they were, once again, closed. I was so hungry!!

Dietary restrictions: My diet is definitely restricted , seeing as how they are never open...

Parking: Well.. there's definitely no employees parked in the lot so feel free to park over night... for several nights.. nobody will know..

Kid-friendliness: Im unsure, as every time I've stopped there, (and there's been plenty) they are closed!

Wheelchair accessibility: Maybe if I was in a wheelchair they'd open the doors once in a while..

Went for the burgers, but short staffed so long wait. Since we were in a hurry, got pizza instead. Good swap. A lot of the fountain drinks were out, hopefully just there on the wrong night. Popular place, clearly. Would eat here again.

The pizza is great! Burgers are hot and fresh. The fries are tasty. Epic awesomeness. The staff is friendly and has great customer service. They accidently overcharged us (we literally had no idea) and gave the 3$ back, even though we wouldn't have even known that we were overcharged.

This "Burger Barn" is a real disappointment. It's a shame that a place with the name "Burger Barn" doesn't even offer a decent, fresh-made burger.

The atmosphere sounds like it's going for a casual, "get it yourself" vibe, but that ends up translating to a very wasteful experience. Charging extra for everything and using disposable containers doesn't scream "high quality" or "attention to detail," it screams expensive wastefulness. They might be saving on labor, but the sheer amount of extra ingredients and disposable packaging likely adds to the overall cost.

The lack of fresh-cut fries, the pre-made frozen patties, and the soggy bun are all major red flags. This place seems to be cutting corners at every opportunity. It sounds like you really got the short end of the stick with the jalapeno burger, as the excessive jalapeno overwhelmed any chance of flavor, and the soggy bun was the final blow.

The chicken burger situation, with its additional charges for lettuce and onion and the absurdly large chunk of raw yellow onion, is also completely inexcusable.

Here's the detail I wanted to add, since the pre-made burger was cooked on a flat top, a grill would elevate the experience and they could easily make fresh smash burgers. Working with raw ingredients also opens up opportunities to incorporate the jalapenos directly into the burger mix, creating a more balanced and delicious flavor.

Ultimately, this "Burger Barn" sounds like a prime example of a place that's trying to capitalize on a concept without actually putting in the effort. They clearly prioritize cost-cutting over quality and customer satisfaction. If you're looking for a good burger, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Cafeteria Burger.

I feel bad leaving this review. The workers were so kind, but, the burger was grey with a barely warm patty, a underwhelming bun and a lack of fresh vegetables on the Cheeseburger. The unsalted fries did not save the meal from floundering.

We ordered two burgers and fries. Both were disappointing.

The ice cream is great, the prices are on the cheaper side but the food is unfortunate.

Ok so I got the bacon burger, vanilla shake and an ice tea. Ice tea is typical fountain ice tea. Nothing to write home about. The burger to steal a line from Pulp Fiction "mmm-mmm that is a tasty burger" BUT if you're like me you want some veggies you know tomato, lettuce, and pickles. I didn't realize it comes at an extra cost BUT the food was so reasonably priced I wouldn't have minded paying extra. $12 for a solid (slang for good) bacon burger. Add $6 for a vanilla shake made with real ice cream. Finally $2.50 for a drink with unlimited refills and you got yourself a really good meal at $20 well worth the drive. The "atmosphere is lacking. It's got a bit of a wood carvers vibe to it. Other than that friendly staff, clean location, 10/10 would eat here again.

Clean place, nice and friendly staff. The crispy chicken sandwich was pretty ordinary. I would ask for lettuce if I ordered again. Fries were very good, as was the tarter sauce (for the fries). There will be a next time. I will give something else a try.

Parking: Large parking lot

Kid-friendliness: High chairs available.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp into restaurant. Wide entrance and room at tables.

Had dinner at the Outpost tonight. Have been meaning to stop by there for awhile. The food was decent, and reasonably priced. The service and atmosphere was fine. The only thing I didn't like about it was I got my dinner in a to go box.

Don't let the beautiful new building fool you. The food is lackluster. Everything is canned, boxed, frozen. Nothing is homemade. The clam chowder, well can you call it clam chowder when it doesnt have any clams in it and it comes from a can? Portions are small. Prices are high. A bowl of canned soup is actually cup sized and bread which is just a bun Toasted is $3 extra. The shrimp and fries were frozen and the shrimp was off. It's a "sit down" restaurant but you order and pay at a counter before you sit down. They bring your food to you in to go containers. The service is the same, no enthusiasm or true service. There are NO GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS except a "salad". I'm not sure why they put so much money into the building and left the menu small and boring. Pizza, burgers, fries and milkshakes.Overall a huge dissapointment and waste of money. We all left feeling awful after eating.Pretty sure the lottery machines are what keep this place going. We didn't try the Pizza, maybe that's their saving grace? I don't know we won't be back to try it though.I hope I don't get food poisoning from the shrimp ??

Dietary restrictions: No gluten free options except one sad cranberry salad maybe. No gf Pizza crust. You can get a burger with no bun but it's not worth it!Fast food greasy food

Unfortunately our experience wasn't like the rest of the reviews here. The food is all frozen, nothing homemade. Chowder from a can, and can you call it clam if it has no clams in it? The shrimp was off. Portions small. A bowl of soup is actually a cup but charged as a bowl. Doesn't even come with crackers. A piece of toasted bun is $3 extra. The service was just ok. We ate in but was served our food in to go boxes. It's fast food and not even done well. The building is beautiful the menu is small, lackluster and dissapointing. We didn't try the pizza so maybe that's what they are known for? We spent a lot of money to get small, not tasty portions and all 3 of us left with major stomach aches. Sorry I don't want to leave a bad review and usually don't but we were so disappointed in the food and lack of service. No gluten free options except a sad salad or burger with no bun.

A very quaint out of the way restaurant and bar. They used to have a bean burger and the fries are always hot and fresh! Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Bean burgers are no longer available, so no vegan/vegetarian options other than french fries.
