We went on Father's Day ,so we expected it to be busy, and it was! We waited quite a while for our food, and it was, well, let's say, not hot. It was still very delicious! I would definitely go back on a not so busy day!
Great place
best place i have ate at since i moved to Oregon. Real mashed potatoes .
Del Rey Cafe has some of the best food in Douglas County. Been there 4 times now and it has been consistently good food. The servers and bartenders are always welcoming.
Staff are super friendly and know their regulars. The place is well kept and clean. Good food as usual, and they serve breakfast all day.
12$ for 3 pieces of French toast, came without syrup. Very dissatisfied.
Horrible business...please read!
Took my 2-year-old daughter to a local cafe Del Rey Café this morning.
Asked specifically for a child's hot chocolate. What we got? A full-sized adult mug, filled to the brim—no warning, no cooler temp, nothing.
Waitress sits it down in front of my daughter, She takes a sip, burns her mouth, spits it out, and ends up covered in hot chocolate.
No heads-up from the waitress. No care taken to adjust the temp for a toddler. (Didnt even explain there is no difference between an adult or childs after asking multiple times.)
I bring it up to the manager/owner—expecting at least some accountability—and get hit with:
“Yeah, we make them all the same.”
No apology. No concern. Just attitude because I had the nerve to be upset. .
Sorry, but if your staff can’t differentiate between a drink for a grown adult and a drink for a toddler, that’s a problem. And if your first concern is my tone rather than a child getting burned—maybe you’re in the wrong business.
Such a horrible experience. Bad food. Horrible service. Long waits.
Went on a busy weekday. My friend and i had breakfast. I ordered biscuits and gravy, and he ordered French toast, hashbrowns, a side of eggs, and orange juice. Food was OK for what it was. I know prices are up right now, but this was 63 dollars... I'm good. Won't be back anytime soon. It's a shame, too, as this used to be a staple in our community. I can afford to frequent this location anymore. The focus seems to be on the bar side and gambling now. Give it a shot it you haven't been. Maybe we went on on off day.

We were on our way back to California when we stopped to get some breakfast. Can I just say this was the best breakfast we had our whole trip! 10/10 ?

Scrambled eggs were burnt, over medium eggs were undercooked pork chops very salty and when we paid they didn't give us our change back I was quickly reminded as to why we haven't been back in years
