Went for the loaded hashbrowns. They were burnt crust of potatoes with raw bacon inside. The waitress (who was very friendly and kind throughout) swapped them for regular hashbrowns which turned out to be raw and crunchy on the inside. DO NOT order the hashbrowns. Disastrous. The manager gave a mild discount and they were pleasant about it. The eggs looked perfect but were cold and inedible. The bacon was pure crunchy goodness and we loved it. Great food. Fast service, despite the restaurant being crowded aon Saturday morning.The booths are too tight though. And no. Those of us eating breakfast at Elmer's are NOT the type to lose weight. :)
I hadn't yet been to this particular restaurant so I was curious to see how they had rebuilt. The dining room opens at 7am, which is later than what I would have expected for a restaurant that caters to the breakfast crowd. The menu is expansive with some interesting options like Dutch pancakes and protein bowls. The food was generally good, appetizing looking, though the sausage links in a couple of the dishes were clearly burnt. Coffee and service were good.
