Great Steak & Salad Bar

Great place to eat, reasonable prices, and beautiful waitresses.

I've been driving past Longfellows every so often for the last half century and have never managed to stop in to see what it was like. Recently I finally stopped in for dinner. Now I know what it's like. I wasn't impressed. It's clearly a leftover from a different age of dining, and I never thought I would be served a steak that was TOO rare, but that's what I got. That steak was also smaller than my left hand, and I'm pretty sure that the slaughterhouse WALKED that cow to death. The baked potato-- which was ALMOST-- completely cooked, was just slightly larger than a tennis ball.
For this meal (see photo) I was charged twenty four bucks.
The real star of the show was the salad I built at their salad bar which was fairly well stocked with nice, fresh produce.
But what I got wasn't worth the price they asked for it, which is a shame, because stepping into Longfellow's Inn is like stepping through a time portal and into 1973. The place has its own weird kind of charm, but not enough to make me want to go back on my own anytime soon.
Best of luck to them in the future, though.

The Ribeye steaks were delicious and quality beef.
The atmosphere was chill and unpretentious and our server Kenna was attentive and cook my steak just to my liking.
The bar is relaxed and friendly.
I’m so glad we stopped, whenever we visit family we’ll be rolling in.

The food was pretty good and came with a show - they cook the meat on a grill in the center of the restaurant. There is a salad bar which I haven't seen in ages. The building inside is worn down and cave like. Despite having to be both cooks and waiters, the staff were quick and friendly.

Nothing better than good-eats at a cozy restaurant bar. They have a grill and know how to use it! Good spot to stop in and kill time. Bonus, you can smell the salad bar is fresh!!

The salad bar is always fresh.
It's a little dark inside but overall it is a constant place to stop by for food and drinks.
My bacon cheeseburger was great and you get to see it cooked right in front of your table.
I just wish it was like old times and you could bring your own raw steak to grill but COVID screwed that up.
Great people running the place.
Prime rib will be back on the menu later in the fall.

Epic salad bar, good steaks and burgers. One exception was a pizza we ordered recently: super undercooked with pickled mushrooms on top which was weird af. I feel like the lighting has gotten brighter, maybe new bulbs, or maybe I’m just imagining it. I used to love how dimly lit the place was.

Food was excellent! Service definitely could be a lot better. Waitress took my plate before I was finished & attempted to take my husbands before he was done. Was not impressed.
