Classic roadside tavern w a Twin Peaks PNW decor that hasn’t changed since the 1920s. Cocktail Bar adjoins.

We were greated as soon as we entered, our order was taken quickly and our server was friendly. The food was disappointing and overpriced. The interior of the building is aged and dark, some areas appear to be undergoing updating.

This vintage building was being renovated by the new owners, but was comfortable. The owners' passion for the highest quality of food was evident as they make most everything from scratch. I really enjoyed the smaller serving of cabbage rolls, and still had plenty to take home.

Joel the bartender and restaurant host took very good care of us. Great food good drinks. What more can I say. No need to go for camp 18.

Hadn't been for years. Delighted still there. Had the cabbage rolls and marion berry cobbler- very tasty. Asparagus cooked perfectly- still crisp.
Server Joel was very busy- but attentive, personable, cheerful and efficient.

Stop there on a trip to Seaside just for a short break, we ended up to enjoy the best burgers we had for a while and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and a good cold beer. Looking forward for next opportunity to visit.

Newish management. The owner is the cook. Food is still good, especially the sides like soup or onion rings. Our waiter had to inform me that they dropped the pastrami on the floor and couldn't provide the Reuben order. Joel was extremely attentive and solicitous. We invented a replacement sandwich. He adjusted our bill. He gave us a free marionberry cobbler. It was reported in our group that the eggs Benedict and hash browns were very good. We had a great lunch and were very well taken care of.

I'm not sure if this establishment has changed ownership as the food and service are not what they used to be.
I realize we were not the only customers, but a good server should check on you at least once to make sure everything is okay, refill water, etc. and unfortunately, that didn't happen.
I ordered a hot beef sandwich, and while there was a generous amount of beef on the sandwich, the gravy that almost tasted more like a stroganoff gravy (ick) was barely warm.
The potatoes, even though barely warm, were real mashed potatoes and had a good flavor.
My husband didn't fair much better with his chicken tortilla soup as it was lukewarm at best. He did say his burger and fries were okay.
We will definitely not be going back.

This Inn felt like home away from home, very comfortable and friendly with the perfect amount of discretion in service. With a affordable price for a young family its definitely a homebase for our trips to the coast..

I’d like to redo my review to account for the hard work it takes to run a restaurant and I have no doubt they are putting in that work.
Prices are too high for diner food. The menu hasn’t changed since new ownership except they vetoed some items. I’d recommend driving five minute up to Camp 18 for better food for the right price and superior customer service. When we went into The Elderberry, we were left standing an awkwardly long while before being seated (we were the only ones there), handed menus before she retreated back to the bar without a single word. I have been asked not to return to this establishment due to my dislike of the new ownership conduct when they first took over paired with this unfavorable review (which is not personal, all the above are facts of my experience, no “hate” or “racism” of which the owners have accused me of [very unprofessional]). I hope they see room for improvement and keep up the hard work!
