a business that truly cares about it's community and the folks in it. Everything in this shop is amazing. I mean EVERYTHING! The drinks, the food, the staff, not to mention the pay it forward program!!! oh and the community closet!!! In a tourist town where else do you see a local shop giving back in such a way?...Not too many businesses do what they do. Also the inclusiveness of accepting any being as they are, who they are, and not judging. Not to mention the all ages karaoke!?!?!?! Just a all around lovely place. The world could use more places like this. BTW The employee of the month is just a delight.

This is the BEST coffee in Seaside, hands down. They do so much for the community and the staff is AWESOME. I always go at least twice any time I visit Seaside! Please keep supporting this wonderful buisness, especially in 2025!

Great take away coffee!
Ordered a London Fog and Oat Latte. Both were prepared well and were excellent.
Atmosphere was nice and supportive although they lacked places to sit and lounge/ eat.

This coffee shop is a gem in our community and should be protected like the treasure it is. Amazing owners, community focused and fantastic coffee and service. I’m saddened to see the post someone made espousing hate, when the people at this shop open their arms wide to everyone, even someone like me who sometimes struggles with choosing the right words at the right time. Genuinely grateful to have them in our town, you will have a whole line of people standing in your way should you choose to bring that kind of nonsense up in person.

I brought a friend in to Controversial Coffee and after listening to them rave about the coffee and breakfast, I realized I haven't reviewed this spot! I love going in to order a "surprise me" drink, because they are always so delicious. The sandwich options are awesome and I love that my favorite, artichokes, are an option. There are so many games to play while you sip your drinks and so many amazing things to check out, read and admire on the walls. Jesus to Elton John to Fabio (the employee of the month) all are there enjoying the ambiance along with you. Don't miss out on the amazing food, drink and experience that Controversial Coffee has to offer.
Oh! And they've got a clothing closet and mutual aid board. Very community centered, very kind, very thoughtful.

This is way more than just a coffee shop; it’s a safe haven, a not so secret society that accepts all, it’s the cool kids table that welcomes all. Can’t wait to see ya’ll again soon!
