Delicious vegan cookies at a great price! It also has some cute seating, games, and a play area for kids. Conveniently located right next to a book store!

Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free

We loooove the Cookie Jar. Delicious cookies and baked goods, the warmest service but also, this place is SO darn accessible. Navigating the North Coast in a wheelchair can feel like a feat, walk ways are crowded and steps lead to everything.
Here, there is a quite sllight ramp to enter into their spacious bakery. So much room to maneuver. Items are at sitting-eye-level in a glass case. Music isn't overbearing, it sets a good mood but you can talk over it. I think my client takes his time here more than usual because he likes to listen to it.

The prices are affordable. A cookie and some good coffee was $5. Definitely recommend the Cookie Jar Bakery if you want to make an afternoon feel special.

If you're visiting, I'd recommend hitting up the connected bookstore first, grabbing a book, and then getting cozy on one of their comfy armchair or couch with a cookie and a hot drink and enjoy yourself. Especially good for a cold morning. Heads up, the bookstore is a nightmare to navigate in a wheelchair.

When we were here, we saw a wide selection of goods. There was plenty of everything.

Wheelchair accessibility: Slight ramp leads to door, very doable. Easy to navigate bakery with a wheelchair.

Don't be fooled by the pictures on Google. Was there on Saturday morning and none of the items were available. Just basic cookies like chocolate chip, and one type of scone. Nothing interesting and very basic boring flavor.

Walked in and the place smells like dog food, there was no one to be found, and I’ve seen better baked goods at yard sales. Don’t waste your time.

Picked up a wedding cake here. Red velvet with cream cheese icing I believe. The cake was the bomb!! Perfect texture, and icing you want to eat by the spoonful!

Spent Father’s Day weekend at Seaside watching my kid play it the Soccer in the Sand event, which never disappoints.

The family and I decided to hit The Cookie Jar. Honestly not a huge “sweets guy”, so this was more of an appeasement for the kiddos.

The space has a real cool vibe. If I lived in this town, I could see myself hanging here with the laptop - working remotely. It’s connection to the adjacent bookstore is a great bonus. I also like that it was just off the main strip (Broadway) with less of tourist trap feeling.

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the offerings. Hadn’t had red velvet cake in quite some time (super moist and the frosting/filling complimented perfectly) and bread pudding (which I took to go and heated up later) hit the spot.
Because I was footing the bill, Dad tax applied, so I had a taste of the kids’ brownies - decadent.

Then I noticed they had quiche. I convinced another soccer family to join us then next morning to check it out. We all had a slice of the ham and cheese. It got the unanimous “thumbs up” from the whole crew. Cashed in on the Dad tax again, with a bite of a delightfully moist and flavorful scone.

This place deserves all the patronage it can handle – even if I must wait in a long line on my next visit.

I live in the neighborhood and come in at least four times a week. Locally owned, small business. Lots of cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, bread loaves, muffins, brownies, bread pudding and even gluten free, vegan and dairy-free options. Fresh fruit available and they serve fresh coffee from Seaside Coffee Roasters. If you can’t find them, ring the bell as they’re in the back baking.

Walked in and there was no one to be found. The place smells like dog food and the food looks weeks old. There’s better looking baked goods at Safeway. We left.

The Cookie Jar Bakery makes you feel like you’re at home the minute you walk through the door. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and as sweet as their delicious pastries and cookies. It is this author’s favorite writing spot and my go-to place to hang out with friends in town. Special shout out about the hand pies—they are jam packed with flavor, pun intended. If you’re looking for a sweet experience, The Cookie Jar Bakery certainly delivers!

Very yummy with a good selection and a clean shop. Everything we had was great.

Dietary restrictions: Hard a dairy free item, but would like to have a sugar free selection available.

Well, we tried it out. The hours they’re open aren’t posted anywhere on the windows or door, but we caught them while open and went in. The guy behind the counter was friendly & we got a ‘hand-pie’ to eat while walking. We should have gotten some water too because there was barely any filling - just 2 layers of pie crust folded over a minuscule amount of peach jam. Similar to other reviews, no taste….. I tried to recommend that hours be posted on the door & was told to “look on Facebook, we are trying to accommodate all ‘ages’ - some are tech savvy & some aren’t. We are very active on Facebook”. Also recommended they move their ‘open’ sign lower in the window so it can be seen & not shielded by the nearby tree but was told ‘folks in wheelchairs wouldn’t be able to see it’ which made NO sense. If this place worked as hard on getting their product more tasty as they seem to work on making excuses, they might have a chance of staying open. I suppose time will tell.
