The coffee shop itself is adorable. The service and coffee was terrible, especially for $18. I think the owner helped us, I asked a simple question and was given a smart ass response. The barista that made the coffee was unfriendly and seemed miserable. Coffee tasted burnt, the milk was over steamed, and overall flavor was just bad. 2 coffees thrown in the trash.

I have enjoyed Symposium for 10 years but this morning was just down right bad service. I greeted the person at the counter with a warm hello; no response. She was looking me in the face so I know she heard me. I ordered a coffee and oatmeal. Coffee was placed on the counter with no order being called out so I had to go up after a few minutes to inquire if it was mine. Ten minutes later I was still waiting for my oatmeal and went up to the counter to ask about it. I told the barista that I had ordered oatmeal and she looked me dead in the eyes and said, “oh”’. I kid you not! No apology, explanation, excuse….nothing. What the heck! Acknowledge people and own up to errors; take pride in your work!

This coffee shop has so much going for it. The drinks are excellent, the atmosphere is inviting, and it’s a space I genuinely enjoy spending time in. That’s why it’s hard to leave this review.

The customer service just doesn’t measure up to the quality of everything else. The staff behind the counter rarely greet you when you walk in, and the overall vibe feels indifferent—like they don’t want to be there or care if customers are happy. It’s disappointing, because a warm welcome and a little friendliness would elevate the experience tremendously.

Honestly, I only find myself going here because it’s the only place in town quite like it. It makes me wonder if there needs to be another option—a relaxing coffee, tea, and book shop—where great atmosphere and great service go hand in hand.

The coffee was great and it’s a cozy and relaxing shop! Also, the owner is really nice, helping us to keep the bag we left. We are really thankful for your help. We will come back.

I’m glad that there’s a coffeeshop in Old Town, but honestly, I really want their coffee to be better and their espresso drinks to be more expertly prepared and presented every time I go there. Also, although the outdoor picnic area serves as a local hangout spot, the inside is not spacious, comfortable, and is missing that “coffeeshop vibe” that’d make me want to frequent it more often to hangout and read/write/work, even if the espresso pulls are lackluster IMO. I’ll still occasionally give them some business though, as I want to support the local biz and the peeps on staff have always been very kind and attentive.

Small town coffee joint that has always been good. They've expanded their services to having a whiskey bar which is a nice addition to downtown Sherwood. The drinks could be stronger however.

For the area it’s definitely decent or better. Inviting atmosphere, lots of seating and ok coffee. We had a scone which was so bad my toddler wouldn’t eat it, and a bagel, which tasted like Franz. My latte was ok though. I’d go back if I happened to be in a neighborhood.

I have visited this location multiple times and have consistently appreciated the quality of both the staff and the food. However, I would like to express my concern regarding the $18.00 Gluten-Free sandwich. I found it disappointing in value for several reasons. The sandwich was significantly smaller than even half of their non-Gluten-Free options and contained approximately one-third of the filling. The bread was approximately 1/4 the length of a standard pen. A business owner, should be embarrassed to present such a product to a customer. I believe there is an opportunity to improve the portion size and value offered for this item. Thank you for considering this feedback. Happy to share the sad little photo of this cracker size sandwich of anyone is interested it wouldn't let me add it for some reason.

Had gluten free options, but felt like the price wasn’t worth the portion size

Americanos are my go to! Was disappointed this morning when given a watery americano that a girl mistook for her latte.. The everything bagel is amazing though!!

This coffee shop is a lovely spot for a great latte in a cozy environment. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to relax or work. The shop itself is spacious, but seating is somewhat limited compared to its size. There is additional seating available upstairs.

They offer a nice selection of sandwiches and pastries to pair with your coffee, which is a plus. However, the parking lot could use some attention, as the large cracks in the cement and pooling water from rain make it a bit inconvenient. That said, the free parking is a definite bonus. Overall, a nice place to grab a coffee and unwind!

Love stopping in here for coffee. The girls are super nice, great service! Haven't tried their food, but they have a lot of good options I'm looking forward to someday trying!

In my opinion, the best coffee in town. And there's a menu for grownups!
