One of those places worth visiting once for fun and to appreciate the uniqueness. Rolls and drinks were good. Salad and beans were average. Main dishes (steaks and chickens) were HUGE and definitely fine values for their moderate price but I would've preferred higher quality of smaller portioned meats given the same price. Willing to revisit if they ever start offering new meat options.
We’ve wanted to try this place for years and finally did it (July 3, 2025). I won’t bore you with details because this place is well-documented and the restaurant’s web site has all the details.
The drive from Bend is very pleasant, and would be even better in cooler weather. We arrived right at 4:00 for our reservation and were promptly seated. There were already many parties in the restaurant.

We went to Cowboy Dinner Tree to celebrate a birthday with family, and it was amazing! The place is so cozy and unique — like a little western hideaway in the middle of nowhere.
The food was incredible (and so much of it!). From the soup and salad to the giant steak and whole chicken — everything was homemade and delicious. We were stuffed and happy!
