I moved to Bend nearly 2 years ago and before I even moved, I was looking up the best beers/saisons/sours/drinking establishments and found Funky Fauna on many lists.

So I swung by, drank a couple of their offerings and loved the whole experience.

The taproom is cozy, eclectic, and welcoming.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging.
The drinks are exactly what I'd expect from small-batch saisons: "weird" combinations that all work very well together.

Joining their mug club was a must after that first visit. I don't make it up to Sisters very often (it's not that far, it's just that I'm still exploring everything the area has to offer and my home base is Bend), but I almost always stop in when I am in town.

Cheers!

A great place to visit - loved the beers and super chill place. Also dog friendly.

The best kept secret in Central Oregon's beer scene... heck, maybe all of Oregon actually. Opened my eyes to the world of alternatives to dank IPAs and Hazys (both of which I still appreciate).

Tasty beers, cool vibes and great service

Absolutely wonderful brewery all around.

Beer- delicious. I tried every one on the menu. They had really unique and interesting flavors. Lots of depth and complexity in each one. You can tell the brewer really loves what he does. "In the Flowers" and "Spooky Kook" were my favorites.

Service- great. The gentleman and woman behind the bar were both very nice and super knowledgeable about the beer. Although I'm pretty sure one or both were the brewer, so makes sense. Told me all about their process/ingredients etc.

Vibes- very good. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of comfy chairs inside. I loved all the plants, books, and artwork.

Cannot wait to come back. Best brewery in Oregon.

I was driving through Sisters on a road trip and came across Funky Fauna - I’m so glad I did! The brewery space is bright and welcoming and the beers are inventive and unexpected. I’m typically an IPA-all the way person, but I tried every beer on tap and have to say… I’m now a Saison fan! The owners Mike and Danielle run all aspects of the brewery, even down to the cool can designs. We loved the beers so much we had to take some on the road for the rest of our trip! 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic selection of unique saison. Worth the visit for something tasty and off the beaten beer path.

Great place and great beers. A must stop if in the area, but pay attention to their hours - they are currently only open once a month. Michael and Danielle (sorry for the spelling) run the place, they were very friendly and welcoming. Would love to be back sometime!

Utterly fantastic sours. (If you appreciate Sante Adairius in Santa Cruz you’ll enjoy this place.). Get the flights, get the cans!!And their can art work I can really appreciate. Bringing back beers to Cali!!

This is a great little brewhouse to drop in on. The beer has great flavors that run a little lower ABV. Friendly staff, clean and stylish.

I've been trying to get out to this place for quite some time now but there hours are very limited and I always seem to miss it! Well the stars aligned and I was able to finally make it and let me tell you that this place will be the next big/little brew house. The first thing you should know is that their beer is pretty limited. All small batch brews with a couple mainstay staples. The second is they focus on really one beer style and that is saison. If you don't like lower ABV saisons then this isn't the place for you. They had a west coast IPA on tap but its since been sold out, however they do have some Great Notion behind the counter for those you are craving some hops! Dogs are welcome and treated very well (water and treats). All in all a warm and inviting small taphouse with a great vibe. Good job Funky Fauna!

Best, and most interesting beer in Central Oregon. Michael is an artist with Saisons, and comes up with some awesome flavor combinations, making every beer a different experience from the last. Not to mention the VIBES. God, the vibes in this microbrewery are so clean and cozy, whether it's summer or winter, it's the place to be. Funky Fauna is a must stop in Sisters. It's a place you have to keep coming back to, because he's always got something new brewing (pun intended). (Bonus, Danielle's merch is next level, definitely pick up something with one of her designs if you can. Not to mention their cans, which are just as cool...)

You aren't going to find any breweries like Funky Fauna. Starting with wild yeast harvested from the winter winds of the eastern cascades combined with locally sourced ingredients and the brewing mastery of the owners you are in for a unique brewery that isn't following the rest of the herd. The beers defy your expectations and delight the pallet with adventurous recipes and a love for the craft. If you like interesting local beer and find yourself in Sisters Oregon on a weekend do yourself a favor and stop here for a tasty drink.

Awesome new micro brewery. Every beer (currently 5 of their own and a few guest taps) is excellent, especially the dry hopped lager Quisquam. Can’t remember one this good in ages. Perfectly balanced mixed fermentation IPA. Small outside seating area but the views beat Crux and that’s saying something. A few snacks but ok to bring your own food. Good coffee shop across the parking lot.Update: new saisons coming out pretty often! Flavors you just won’t find anywhere nearby. Environment remains super welcoming.
