Clean, fast, and friendly. The gentleman behind the counter should teach customer service classes to anyone in the service industry! Top notch friendly and full of energy.
Went here with my mom today around 10 ish am and it was amazing! Guy working there was super friendly. Food was on point. Especially loved the cheddar broccoli soup. Will be back.
This was our first visit passing through Springfield and discovered this quaint deli. The first thing we noticed was that they had fountain drinks. It’s hard to find that in Oregon! The service was fast and friendly. Our order came to our table quick!!
We were pleasantly surprised when we bit in to our hot sandwiches. The bread was SO very soft and the portion size was great.
The meats and cheeses were flavorful and the toppings were fresh.
Would come back again!!
I love sandwiches. They are my favorite food and I'm very critical of what is a good sandwich. I was very worried when I heard there were new owners. Big town hero was always my favorite of all sandwiches, so I had to try it the next time I was in town to see whether it had actually changed or not. I'm thrilled to say it's just as good as ever! At least our visit was. My wife got their club, and I got the turkey bacon avocado. Let me just say there is no sandwich like a big town hero sub! The bread was as soft as ever, and it was loaded with meat and toppings. We even placed our order over the phone and had customizations and they got everything right. If this is how Big town hero's subs taste with new owners, then it's in good hands! I cannot recommend a better sandwich anywhere!
Fast & Friendly Service... Absolutely delicious food
Absolutely amazing owners and staff, delicious sandwiches all at very fair pricing! Our favorite sandwich shop without question. They even catered a memorial service for us and it was done perfectly! So much positive feedback from those in attendance!
always friendly staff, always good portions of distribution in the sandwiches, and always good quality lettuce (hard to find in sandwich shops believe it or not!!) Never fails to satisfy! + when I went back after forgetting to get my loyalty card stamped they hooked me up!!! LOVE this location
It was a nice sandwich. Reminded me of my youth. Fresh fluffy bread, good amount of meat and friendly folks.
For over 15 years I've told people that big town hero was the best sandwich shop in town. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend them. One of the biggest reasons for my recommendation was they had the nicest bread, made fresh daily. As a former baker I could tell how much love and care was put into making their bread truly fantastic. The last few times I've been there the bread has been hard and crusty. I have no doubt that it's being made fresh, but it's no longer the best sandwich bread in town. So long and thanks for all the Sandwiches.

Best sandwich shop! And the soup is so good! Amazing team and so fast! The store itself is so clean and inviting! I’m so thankful to have this place in my community!! Support local!!
What an absolutely horrendous experience when I called after getting sick from ordering from here. I ordered the early afternoon of 11/16/24. I ate nothing else all day, but got, to say in the most appropriate manner, severe GI issues a few hours later, that very nearly resulted in a humiliating public accident. Thank god I got the code for the grocery store bathroom in time when it hit. I called 20 minutes before closing the same day and said I got food poisoning and wanted a refund. The rude lady on the phone immediately responded “absolutely not.” She then asked what I ordered, and when I told her the sandwich, the cream cheese cucumber, she said it was impossible to get food poisoning from that sandwich. That is completely untrue. Cross-contamination is BASIC food safety knowledge, and this is coming from a physiology major who has worked in food for years. I have loved this place and would have been so forgiving if my concern was taken seriously, but her disgusting, crass, and immediately dismissive attitude and response has totally turned me off. I will call the owner Monday, and hopefully they can give some resolve so I can take this down.
Orderd 46 dollars which was 3 foot long sandwiches .All 3 where made wrong mine had mayo just globed on no mustard or oil wrong veggies wifes veggies were wrong no mustard all were made on wrong bread also never got a reciept location was marcola rd albertsons shopping center
Don’t. Even. Do-It. Unless you like eating rocks……Three weeks ago I tried this place for the first time and I was quite displeased with the fact that I bit down on a rock, I thought my tooth was broken!! After speaking to the manager and reconciling the issue, or so I thought, I still have never been credited the money for my sandwich and the $7 tip that I never elected to tip the sandwich artist…..Lilterally the manager, Tony? I think, did not even believe me. As if I have nothing better to do than to make up a red piece of granite in my sandwich..Don’t eat here unless you want to ruin your dental work.
