Delicious food and super friendly staff, great atmosphere all around

The food is Hawaiian affair, with great taste for an affordable price. 2 serving of 2 meats of your choosing with 2 sides for only $10! It's like to see some affordable pricing when grabbing a meal. Service was friendly, and food was fast. Would definitely eat here again.

I have eaten at Kona many, many times in the 15+ years since they opened, more times then I care to say. I ate there for the first time, the week BEFORE they opened and the food has always been consistently great, authentic huli-huli style BBQ, that Steve smokes daily. I've actually watched him tend to his BBQ out back.

I have tried the other "Hawaiian" places around town (as well as some in other cities) and I prefer Kona's food. The other places around town do feel a little too much like a chain, Kona is definitely a mom and pop. You get big portions for the money and their prices have been competitive since they opened.

As for the comments about the flavor of this or that and the use of "liquid smoke" all I can say is that I have eaten here since the week BEFORE they opened and the food is just a good as it was then and I'm pretty sure Steve doesn't have a need to use liquid smoke. I've tried everything on the menu and some I like more than others, just like any food at any place. Maybe try something else on the menu next time?

Someone said that it made them upset that there are items listed on their menu that they don't have on hand, well that just means next time get in before they sell out... ;)

BRUH. ONLY $6.50 FOR ALL THIS. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try the food as I suffered a shock-induced heart attack. Phenomenal service — so friendly, and performed continuous CPR for 40 minutes until paramedics arrived

I'm going to give this place a 5/5 because most of the staff including the owner are great. The food quality and prices are make this the best deal of any Hawaiian restaurant in Eugene/ spfd. 30% cheaper, bigger portions, better taste. The new people they have are great too. There are 2-3 employees (not newer team members) though where if they're working I recommend waiting till another time. Under portion plates, forget sides, and rudely toss your food at you and are generally unwelcoming. 9/28 around 1pm was bad service.

It's a small mom and pop style joint but what they lack in decor they more than make up for in the food and quality. And the absolute best part is that it's always consistent for the .most part. I've been coming here once a week for the last year and have only had 3 plates that were not as good as they normally are but each time I've mentioned it they've immediately made it right either same day or next time I visited. The only downside is that they're a bbq joint so once it's gone it's gone for the day no matter what time it is lol

Second time here today. Yummy food, big portions and really sweet staff that are always smiling. Gets really busy, understandably. Not many seats inside so plan to take out. Id for sure come by more if I lived closer!

Very unreliable. Went there at 6:30pm on Friday and they are closed even though their google page says they are open. Poor business etiquette.
