10/10 recommend. I was in town for a wedding and wanted a local favorite…this place is a gem! It was busy on a Friday late morning, so i KNEW it had to be good…it did not disappoint. When we walked in, we were greeted quickly and sat at a cute booth. The service was so fast and the food was amazing. We had the steak and eggs. The steak was huge and so delicious. Our server, Cari, was so friendly and attentive. We had to ask for anything…refilled coffee & water without us having to ask, we didn’t have to look around to find someone to bring our check when we were finished. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

The food was delicious and the service was great! I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the sausage and eggs and everything was delicious! Plus I gotta say the coffee was so good!

The eggs, freshly cracked, revealed a pristine chalazae that was tender yet resilient, ensuring that each bite retained a consistent, luxurious consistency. The Vitelline membrane was flawlessly intact, creating a gentle barrier that kept the rich, golden yolk perfectly nestled within the albumen. The albumen itself was flawlessly beaten to a velvety, slightly glossy finish, contributing a light and airy texture to the omelette.

Cooked to golden-brown perfection, the omelette featured a beautifully integrated interplay between the soft, creamy curds and the subtly crisp edges.

Wife ordered biscuits and gravy, she said that there was no sausage in the gravy. I ordered ground beef patty and eggs. Expected the patty to be fresh for the price, but it was a frozen patty. Won't be going back, and we live in Stayton.

Super disappointed I remember come here as a kid and the service was amazing and the food was even better. HOW ever this time around was horrible the food was over cooked and we waited for over an hr after we ordered our food I wish they had the option to give negative starts not shur how they have a 4 star rating we will definitely not be coming back

Such a hidden gem in Stayton. How many times we have stopped in this town for gas and never visited here.

Today my mom, husband and I went to the Covered Bridge Cafe for my birthday breakfast. We had read and heard so many great reviews including from my mom who had been there before with friends.

As soon as we walked in the door, we noticed how cold it was in the restaurant. No biggie, we were seated and thought the cold would subside, but it didn’t. We were absolutely freezing. My mom jokingly said something to one of the employees asking them if they were also cold and they said,” yeah kind of.”

Now, keep in mind, it’s been warm during the late afternoons here, but not at 10:30 in the morning. I see that all but 1 or 2 customers are elderly and they all have sweaters and jackets on.

When we got our food, my mom asked the server if the air could be turned down and the server responded with,”no, my boss won’t let us.”

I am all for the servers comfort since they’re the ones doing all of the leg work but, this was crazy.

While we were eating our food hoping to be distracted from the cold, I over heard other customers being asked if they were too cold and if they wanted to move to another seat. Apparently our comfort was not as important as the regulars.

I had ordered the French toast, country potatoes and bacon. The first slice of the French toast was fairly descent but the two after that were so incredibly soggy and seemed to be undercooked.

I would have told a server but we weren’t asked how our food was until we were about done. I didn’t want to interrupt any of the severs friendly conversations with the locals which seemed to be a priority over the outsiders.

When we were finally asked if everything was ok, the server did offer to get me new French toast but I had eaten the very outer edges that weren’t as undercooked along with my underwhelming country potatoes and very good bacon. She did remove the French toast from the bill.

We waited outside, in the sun while my mom paid the bill where she once again said something about how cold it was in there and again was given the excuse of,”our boss won’t let us turn it down.”

It had to have been 65° inside and the restaurant closes at 2pm, so I’m not sure why they needed to keep the temperature at the level of a morgue during the coolest part of the day. Also, with such quick responses with what seemed to be the go to answer, obviously we’re not the only ones who have complained about this.

We will never return to this restaurant as we did not feel welcome and the food was sub-par and made me feel nauseous after we ate. We drove from Salem to try this restaurant which was a waste of time, gasoline and money.

Our organization, about 8 to 10 members, was meeting at the Covered Bridge for breakfast.
The owner was taking my breakfast order. I asked for my hash browns to be cooked extra crispy, explaining that I don't like them with soggy insides. She rudely told me no I couldn't, adding that I will like them.
My breakfast came out with the hash browns slightly brown and of course soggy in the middle.
I couldn't believe she did that.
Of course I left no tip and will not go back. Neither will my associates.
I should have just settled with coffee and ate later.

After calling and speaking with the owner.
Who was nothing but nice. My husband and I will give The Covered Bridge Cafe another chance before we leave our review.

Have driven 6,500 miles this summer touring from AZ N thru UT, MT, WA, OR. Had breakfast at numerous restaurants. The Stayton Omelet here is absolutely the BEST breakfast meal I have had! Every item on the plate, biscuit, omelet, country potatoes, was awesome!! This was on the last day of my visit to the area, and this breakfast made m want to stay a few more days so I could try other items on their menu.?

Excellent food and service. Was greeted warmly by a young man who asked how many were in our party and had the table ready before all 4 of us made it in the door. Omelets were fluffy and stuffed with fillings. Jam for the toast tasted homemade. Will definitely come back when traveling through this area again.

After seated took 15 minutes before our order and about 20 minutes after our order was taken we asked how much longer it would be. Sat for another 10 minutes before we decided to leave, only after we were leaving did they stop and ask us if everything was okay and told us our food was ready. We were upset no one came back to tell us why it was taking so long. We were told "it's not a fast food restaurant" everything is made fresh, the chili omelette was not good tasted like can chilli, the swiss mushroom omelette was missing the Swiss cheese just a little white cheese sprinkled on top. We will not be back. One of the servers was kissing her significant other in the lobby and playing with her child's hair instead of working. Very disappointing we were excited to try the place and was disappointed. Even with the Statement below, it's sad when service is horrible and then it's tried to turn it around to be your fault. This is not a good place. Food was not at table when we agreed to come back into the restaurant. It was delivered after we sat back down and we left money on the table for milk my husband and little one drank. When she tried to apologize all she did was blame it on the younger staff and didn't take ownership until she could see we were not buying it. Instead of admitting you were wrong you instead blamed me for how I walked in, The young kids were willing to help but the one that took our order never smiled once at us and still was apologizing to my husband as he was paying while I took our little out to our vehicle. Nice try to blame us when you really were at fault for crappy service.
