Nice staff. Extremely long wait for food. No show or any special tricks. Poor coordination. Mandatory 15% service fee.
Menu and description online are misleading. They don’t have sushi and the service was slow so we didn’t end up trying their food. We were so excited and had made a reservation but they didn’t let us know they would be understaffed.
This restaurant has new owners. The food is fresh, cooked at your table, properly seasoned and has excellent taste. The service is excellent.
It is reasonably priced. It is suitable for large groups. We highly recommend it. Also they let you share.
Came for an early dinner, it was quiet, but service was quick. Food was amazing, the fried rice is simple but very flavorful, the sauces really add complexity. The chef was friendly and skilled. Great time!
This was our first time trying this restaurant. The food was delicious and well seasoned. Service was wonderful and very attentive. They have lots of great hibachi options. It did have less of a show than other hibachi places but the chef was fun and interactive. It was kind of sad to see a great restaurant pretty empty on a Friday night. I hope they get more business because the food is so good. For those complaining about the charge there's a sign right in the front that states it. Overall highly recommend.
Worst place I’ve ever been to, so Smokey, made a reservation at 6 and they were short staffed. The woman at the front had a runny nose and looked completely overworked. I asked her a few questions and n she looked like she didn’t know where she was. So many people waiting around, no one spoke good English. It was awful, waste of time. Even if the food is good the ventilation is not up to code. Sooo Smokey. Don’t waste your time. Very unorganized. The employees apologizes a lot for the owners
It smelled so bad, like burned oil and bad seafood. When we walked in the door, we just turned around and left.
VERY Disappointed to see a sneaky 18% service charge for our dinner for 3 of us. We left a 20% tip also not catching it! 38% out of pocket! That alone leaves us feeling taken advantage of. For our 1st visit, likely will not return based on that alone. Food was decent, our Chef was polite. No real atmosphere.
Very tasty and sweet clean. Service and politeness and respectful. Very friendly and fun show!
Didn’t even get to eat. We arrived at 6:50 with a reservation. They only had one chef apparently. The server told us that the chef would help the other tables and then get to us, not even giving us a time. We sat for 30 minutes and had to leave to go somewhere else. Probably the worst service I’ve ever had haha. It was pretty awkward too. The restaurant was dead silent. At least have some music playing maybe.

Enjoyed time with the family at this fun venue. They need to update and clean the place up a bit though.
Our favorite Japanese steakhouse! The guys here are top notch and funny. We make it a point to drive here.
Good experience

If all you care about is portion size, then this place is for you. We were excited for Japanese food and was sorely disappointed. The quality and flavor of the food was sub par for the price and I would not consider this Japanese food. Think one of the sad Mongolian grills in se pdx. We will not be back.

Do not be fooled by the name into thinking this is an even moderately nice restaurant as it simply is not...though they do charge a more premium price and all bills have an automatic 18% service fee included. The food is prepared in front of you on a flat top grill and "seasoned" with various bottles of liquids by your server, the major problem is that at least one of those bottles contains that industrially minced garlic that doesn't taste like garlic but rather the preservative used to keep it "fresh". All of your food ends up tasting of the same awful garlic preservative with differing texture (veggies, rice, noodles, steak, seafood etc). Very much a disappointing dining experience
