A classic locals bar. A classic great road stop while traveling the coast. Especially if on a motorcycle!

Better service now and good bar food...the waitresses are busy but attentive and approach with a smile. Drinks are cheap, so don't expect some fancy stuff... this is a bar.

Came in around 4pm on 9-7-24 for some food and to play pool with the Mrs. We're from Central Oregon out here camping and love to bring our own pool sticks to play at bars and seemed to be the only place around with a pool table. We arrived around the shift change for bartenders and was kinda ignored by the 1st bartender getting off shift, but THANKFULLY was picked up attentively by an amazing blond I believe by the name of Taisa. She got our food order put in right away, then printed off some lotto tix for me and was great at making sure everything was good and even refilled our sodas in between helping all her locals. The cook that evening did a great job on my French Dip and my wife's Rueben Sandwich and the fries were really tasty all crispy and hot?? I liked how much Taisa made us feel welcome with her smile and fun chit chat that I made sure to tip her about $20 on a $37 meal tab(no alcohol) and printing some lotto tix. I'm glad we came at the time we did as it was a "calm" time of day for a dive bar and pool tables were open for quite awhile. Definitely bring you own cue if you like to play a good game on a bar table. All in all, great bar food on a Saturday evening and good times shooting pool with the Mrs. Thank you to the awesome blond bartender. You were much appreciated!?✌️

First off I will clarify my comments by saying there appeared to only be one server that also worked the bar. From the first moment walking in, it looked like it was all regulars as alot of them seemed to interact. Now I am a tourist, just staying in town for the night for photography opportunities as well as some astrophotography. I sat at a table facing the bar and waited......and waited.......and waited. My table was wet and needed a wipe so I was sitting back from it doing my best to be seen. The server seemed to go out of her way to avoid all eye contact even as I stared at her while she walked to the bar, payed out some keno tickets, paid out a couple bills, even served drinks to a table about 15' away. Still, no contact or acknowledgment that I was there. I am a patient man and I understand she is busy. The only two seater table is still dirty wet as a sit and patiently wait. Now, I walk to the bar and stand there and wait again, as I am completely ignored. I have a fellow walk up who is obviously a regular and he gets acknowledged, the guy is a full foot shorter than me and as I stand beside him.....Still ignored....Now the waitress is concerned about getting food out and ensuring its right, I think. Still, now I am only a couple of feet away and still ignored....Come one, I'm 6'2" 250 pounds. I stand out!!! Now I ask for a rag to wipe the table and a menu. Begrudgingly, I am given what I ask for, but still not acknowledged. No hi, how are you. No sorry about that. Absolutely nothing from this women's mouth.....Not a word.... Service industry, take note, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO IT!!! I now I take my cloth back to my table with the menu that I have been given and do her job for her......And I wait again!!....still going! At this point I am figuring she is only there for the locals... YOU NEED TO LEARN SERVICE FOR ONE! FOR TWO I AM GENERALLY A VERY GOOD TIPPER!! You have earned this scathing review whole heartedly. Your lack of service or even acknowledgement was extremely disappointing and you caused me to miss my golden hour opportunities. That's the whole reason I am here.

My advice, if you walk in and everyone seems to know each other, walk out and go to Saltys down the road. They will appreciate you and serve you with a smile!!!

We went to the Flounder yesterday for a friend's Bachelorette night out. The bartender was fantastic and we had a wonderful experience with the bar service. Our only complaint was the Karaoke DJ, they were awful. We had even called ahead and told them we were coming hoping it would give them a heads up. We put in multiple requests for songs right at the start of the night and they ignored most requests, instead they sang themselves or only let certain regulars sing. We would have stayed longer and spent more there if they had fulfilled our requests. very disappointed in the KJ's. they were very unprofessional and made us want to leave early.

I would recommend it only if you want a drink but NOT for karaoke if you are expecting to sing. (The bartender and locals we met were great!) The KJ, though our group of 8 was there before the 9pm start time, obviously had a preference for the locals. Some of our group were never called and others only once or twice (and one incident only after the KJ was asked to give a third call to another in our group that had only been called once.) No fair rotation! We finally decided to leave a little after 11pm. Very disappointing!

Karaoke was so much fun! Everyone was welcoming- bartender was great... there's even a little dance floor. If you are looking for a welcoming dive bar on the coast- this is it! Great bartender and impressive selection!
