Waves Restaurant & Lounge

Please note most the reviews are 3 plus years old. The Waves recently reopened and under new management. We have a positive experience under the new management, though for a few others a few bumps. IMHO it has the best ambiance in this area. They are working to improve those bumps. I hope they succeed,

They brought food out one at a time, they didn’t get water to us for 10min then another 30 for menus, in the end we left because they didn’t even start cooking 3 of the 7 plates of food and we were there for 2+ hours

No public bathroom.

Disappointed this time , limited menu and couldn't make a drink

We totally enjoyed our meal at Waves. The food was good , service was incredible!

but since the place is on the Alsea I do not see how one can"see" the Yaquina Bay Bridge? Waves Restaurant and Lounge This beautiful restaurant and lounge is just waiting for you to arrive to enjoy views of beautiful Yaquina Bay, stunning Yaquina Bay Bridge (even more spectacular at night!) as well as a mouth-watering menu.

We’ll, for anyone wondering about the new owners of the Waves Restaurant here in Waldport. Never have I ever been spoken to like this!! I called the restaurant earlier in the day to make dinner reservations for a party of six and was expecting a call to confirm. I wanted to give them the opportunity to show us their menu and try them out. I went in at 6:00 pm to dine with them and the lights were off. I went in and asked the lady at the front desk why they weren’t open and she said they are only open when employees show up. I told her they were posted online as OPEN and she said that doesn’t mean anything. I said a call would have been nice and that we would not have made plans to eat there. She said she doesn’t have time for that! I told we would not be coming back. She yelled at me and said that’s great, we don’t want you back you entitled peace of …t!! She continued to scream at me as I walked out to my car. I won’t repeat all the horrible things she said after that but the people in this community should know who these owners are!

We should have known when restaurant was nearly empty. Ordered the soup and salad. They were out of salad. And soup spoons. The oyster crackers were stale and the chowder's only flavor was salt and sand. And, the cabernet was served chilled. Not going back.

We have enjoyed visiting Waves restaurant over the last few years. It's one of our favorite dining rooms because of the ambiance and the view. The new owners have done a great job of providing quality food and excellent service. Best wishes for much success!

Restaurant states open at 5 am. Was not open even at 7 am? Resort? States free breakfast? No breakfast here and no hot coffee! Nothing!

Outstanding experience. Staff was attentive and efficient. I got my food quickly and it all tasted amazing! Will definitely return

Used to be great, but after it was bought out by some rich guy from LA, everything seems to be going downhill. Seen the manager verbally berate employees in front of customers, which was appalling. Now we learn that the two waitresses that we specifically went to this restaurant for, were fired so the LA owner could plant his own people in. This is no longer a local community centered business, and I suggest doing some research and supporting a restaurant that contributes to Waldport and the local areas. Will not be back

The Hotel was a bit dated, and the shower in our room was absolutely the worst. The pool needed its chemicals to have been balanced better and I am guessing the pool heater isn't working either, and the pool itself should have some kind of enclosure. The Lounge/restaurant had been closed.
