What a lovely place! A perfect spot for a cozy lunch on a blustery day. And the food was fantastic, mushroom soup, chicken pot pie, truffle fries (amazing), and creme brulee for dessert. It's so easy to get there, we'll be back soon!

It’s no longer Allium. New owners, name, higher prices, different menu…
Went to the coastal foraging dinner and it was worth the money. We learned so much from Alanna. The food was delicious and the place is beautiful with its mushroom theme. Highly recommend going here.

We have been coming here for years under the previous ownership. With the new owners the portions were very small for the price compared to what they were and the quality was significantly lower. Our order was incorrect and service was slow. Super disappointing as this was one of our go to spots for decent food without having to make the drive to Portland.

We’ve dined at Allium a handful of times and now tried under new ownership as Chantrel. I had Lamb Stew and my wife had Fisherman’s Stew. Also got half a dozen oysters. The food was great. Loved the taste of lamb and broth was delicious. I liked the smashed potatoes in the stew. It would be nice if they completely shucked the oysters so I wouldn’t have to dig them out with the fork. Server was very friendly and prompt. Also had their special pumpkin cocktail for the evening. Not a fan of my drink tasting like a yankee candle, but others with dead taste buds might enjoy. Also, if you’re going for higher end, ditch the diner paper napkins and get cloth. Can’t remember if the purple lights were there when it was Allium. Makes for weird atmosphere

Loved this place when it was Allium and it looks like most of the reviews were from from that time as Chantrel opened 7/24. Unfortunately service was lacking- had to get her attention a couple times for things and the server was nicey/fake instead of genuine. They were out of oysters and a simple question turned into a condescending response. Tried their salmon even though it was farmed and it definitely lacked flavor. I won’t be making that mistake again at any restaurant. We’ll cherish the many times my husband and I joined my in-laws for dinner at Allium but won’t be returning to Chantrel.
We used to love coming to Allium over the years! They always had such healthy, farm-to-table options, which is very important to us. We were super disappointed to find out that they were no longer using wild salmon or grass fed beef, and were hoping that the new ownership would bring back those quality-sourced ingredients. Sadly they have not, and as a result we will have to finally part ways with Allium/Chantrel for good :(

We just tried Chantrel for the first time and it was fabulous. From the cocktails, to the starter, to the entrees, to dessert. Loved it all. The ambiance is warm and inviting and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the salmon with blackberry salsa and my husband had the lamb which was prepared perfectly with farro and mushrooms. If they have a special, get it. The seasonal peach tomato caprese with blue cheese and balsamic was fresh and delicious. They use local, very high quality ingredients for every dish. Can’t wait to see what future menus for fall and winter will bring.

My family has been here 3 times in the past month or so and it never disappoints. Very friendly staff, great food, and relaxed atmosphere. We love the fried rock fish, butter lettuce salad, duck fat and rosemary fries, and the beef filet. We will definitely continue going!

Everything we had for lunch was phenomenal. I got the house burger and duck fat fries. The bacon was perfectly crispy and chewy, the burger was anything but dry. The fries were CRAZY, and the aoli they served with it was the perfect compliment. My fiance had the beef and onion pie, and said it was fantastic. He even enjoyed the salad on his plate, and the man despises greens of any kind. The server (kicking myself for not getting her name) was so kind and funny. We were both surprised to be the only two people in there on a Saturday afternoon. Small menu, but they have a list above the kitchen of all the places they get their ingredients and wines. We will have to go back to try their dinner menu. I'm craving those fries again and its only been a few hours since our meal.

The new ownership here has done a great job to date with the offerings they’ve brought in. Will be back again.

Was absolutely horrible food. The bolognese had ground beef like in a taco. Not what the menu says.

Service was good but I think they are catering to the older crowd. Both dishes were very bland and lacked seasoning. Probably won't go back.
