I only have two qualms with this place that I'll list at the end, but, all around a really great place.
The staff was extremely friendly, they have a good variation of American and seafood options and have unique dishes. I ordered the chicken plate and was surprised to receive chicken wings with asparagus and mashed potatoes because the menu didn't disclose that they were chicken wings (I thought it was going to be a grilled chicken breast), but they were cooked to perfection and extremely juicy.
My husband ordered the wagu burger and was a bit disappointed that the patty had no flavor or seasoning to it but he could at least taste that it was indeed freshly made and grilled and not frozen at all. The fries were really good too. The prices were fantastic with today's economy and you do absolutely get high quality food. The environment is very nice with low lights and a peaceful environment with booths and tables. We each ordered a drink, and appetizer, and an entree and the total was just barely $100 so that was really nice for us while also having high quality food. Crab cakes were also wonderful.
My only two issues:
The Google listing of this place shows a steak plate which is why we went there in the first place, only to find no steak options on the menu except for the wagu burger and steak bites appetizer so their menu must have changed.
There was a traveler with his suitcase just hanging out at one of the tables and wasn't eating anything and wasn't kicked out for it. He was also quite rude to the waitresses and had been fully expecting to stay there till close to use the WiFi. That really tainted the vibe and feel that this place that was obviously trying to maintain a fine dining feel but that was being compromised by allowing him to just hangout in there. I don't believe any restaurant should allow this and reccomend for them to go find a Starbucks.
We were very bothered by this as this was our first date in 2 months.

It's gone downhill under new ownership. The menu doesn't offer the nice Happy Hour food that it used to. Choices were limited and the nice ambiance of the past is gone.

I almost didnt go to this restaurant based on the lengthy negative review which I found to be baseless.
We went for happy hour and enjoyed splitting a steak and fries dish served in a delicious gravy, salads with a wonderful vinagrette (would love the recipe!), and we also split a huge juicy hamburger. I enjoyed good house pinot gris (King Estate) and my friend had a lemon drop. Will definitely go back!

I was rather unsatisfied after eating a $26 plate that left me hungry. I have worked in casual fine dining, and this was really disappointing! Read the menu and order accordingly.
Great service - unsatisfying portions

The bar is the highlight of this little spot. Great view, a promising patio and Excellent classic cocktails with good selection of Italian-Aperitivos. Cheers!

I am still baffled by the allure of this restaurant. I've been here now three times and every time I am left confused and dissatisfied.
It pretends to be a mid-high end establishment with the prices to go along with it, but the food is weak and below the veneer of high quality, lies carelessness.
This latest go around I decided to try something that they couldn't really screw up. A cheeseburger. And just... wow. I really didn't know you could make a cheeseburger that dry. Or burnt. It looked good. Except for the charred half of the bun. The flavor was mediocre and I'm glad I was hydrated because their interpretation of medium was to desiccate the poor pattie until it crumbles in your mouth.
What are they doing here that is attracting so many people? Maybe people just think it's a fancy place to go and that somehow compensates for everything else? I mean the bathroom. For god sakes the bathroom wasn't clean. For a place that charges almost twenty dollars for a cheeseburger. Piss all over the toilet. Mirror was dirty. Sink top is decrepit.
It's just the worst kind of thing, knowing you could go down the road to a diner and spend ten bucks less and get more food at higher quality, made faster, AND have a clean bathroom. Boggles the mind.
Hope you all can figure it out, but you never need I guess to because the folks just keep rolling in.

Like a breath of fresh air. The new Restaurant 503. New “old” owner, new menu, new wine list and new staff. Loved it. You have to try it. I had the lamb.

TLDR: poorly ran front of house, condescending manager
Honestly not sure where to begin - booked a same-night reservation for an indoor table on Resy. Called an hour before reservation to see if we could come in early and was told no because they had a “buy out”. Manager went on to confirm our reservation despite the buy out…. This is when I should have known to find another restaurant.
We arrive for reservation, they then tell us they’re only seating outdoor patio tables - mind you it’s 7:30pm in mid-September and we have a 3 year old with us. Whatever, we will make it work. Then the manager goes “the buy out party of 50 is putting their orders in now, so it will be a bit of a wait for your food. Just enjoy another drink or something!” At this point we haven’t even been seated yet, I’m 9 months pregnant, trying to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary with a 3 year old… not a particularly appropriate or helpful suggestion.
I try to get some detail on what she means - are we talking a 2 hour wait for food? Because again, we have a three year old with us and recognize no one on that patio will enjoy their dinner if she is sitting there hungry for that long. The manager responds with all the attitude in the world and in the most condescending tone.
As a parting word I attempt to mention that it would have been helpful if they had mentioned all (heck ANY) of this when we had called an hour earlier. Lo and behold it was her on the phone, which explains why the call was so unhelpful.
A simple apology would have fixed the entire conversation and we would have been on our way, but again she had to continue to make rude comments in an attempt to “be right” and put blame on us. A simple solution for the future: turn your reservation system off if you have a buy out….problem solved!

New Menu! Johnny had some great offerings. We did the new endive, blue cheese and pear salad, French onion soup - and fig and prosciutto pizza -
Finished with. Fig dessert! Everything was so “f” word good!

I am a local Guitarist and performed at the Five 0 Three for the first time on 8/17. What great food and atmosphere! All three musicians enjoyed the delicious food and drinks after performing. Management and employees were absolutely fantastic. The Italiano Pizza and Wedge Salad a “10”. This is a great venue for live music.
Kid-friendliness: Kids were welcome and could hear live Jazz.
