J. Willys Public House and Eatery

I am a huge fan of this place! Great service from rad people, and consistently delicious and high quality food. I am spoiled now because salmon from anywhere else isn’t as good! I also love their happy hour menu and newly-added Bahn Mi sliders and sweet potato waffle fries. Yum! My only wish is that they had a better tequila selection, but they make up for it by having my favorite IPAs. Will be back again and again!

The food and the service are consistently good; great in fact. I understand that it’s a family restaurant so sometimes there are families with kids. But, some parents let their kids yell, scream out loud in the restaurant without redirecting their behavior. I even saw a father scream with his toddler (for fun, I guess) without any regard for others dining there. I wish this nice eatery could remind parents that in order for EVERYONE to enjoy this place, they need to be mindful of others.

Place was nice and server was helpful. But i ordered the custom Mac-&-Cheese with breaded chicken and the chicken was dry. Whats worse was the sauce was thicker than peanut butter. I scooped it onto my fork and it was like holding a DQ Blizzard upside down. Didn’t move an inch. And the flavor wasn’t amazing either. Not quite what i expected.

This restaurant is right on the main street that runs through the little town of Willamette (cute place to visit by West Linn area). J. Willy's has restaurant side and separate bar area and some tables outside for summer dining. Bar side is fun and more intimate. Restaurant side is roomy enough for large gatherings (we've had two large groups there for birthday parties and still room for other diners). The menu is extensive, food quality is very good. For lunch, my personal fave is pulled pork sandwich and husband's fave is the Willamette dip (tender steak and caramelized onions). The pizza is also delicious. Actually everything is very good. Haven't had it for awhile, but I remember the meatloaf dinner was really tasty too!
There is convenient street parking in front and on the side street.

We went here today for happy hour while our daughter was in a lesson. We both regret that we hadn’t tried this place sooner. The awesome bartender mixed delicious drinks and we enjoyed the nachos and everything was reasonably priced. It’s our new favorite happy hour spot on the street.

Yum! I’m in town and tried this place and OH EM GEE. I had the pear and walnut salad with steak and Italian dressing ??. I also had the apple mule. Jesus Christ this place is good. Can’t wait to come back.
