I came to Emoji Sushi for the first time today and ordered takeout. I ordered vegetarian ramen with tofu, a sweet potato roll, a vegetable gyoza and French fries. The ramen was very bland and Oily and I had to add all sorts of stuff from my fridge to make it taste ok. The mushrooms they put in the ramen were old and dirty. The vegetable we mediocre at best. I asked to add tofu for $3 and that was just silken tofu cut into large chunks, it was flavorless. I’ve had veggie ramen in the are a which was significantly better, but they recently closed. My daughter said the sushi roll and gyoza were just “mid.” Even the fries were bad, my sons who loves fries didn’t eat more than 3 or 4 of them. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
Vegetarian options: There are enough options but everything was bland

So I'm gonna say there aren't many redeeming qualities at this restaurant other than the service was good. Hence the 2 stars.
The Food:
Seafood Combo Teriyaki (2/10) - Let me say that it looks prettier than it tasted. It came out sizzling and looks really good. On the first bite into the shrimp I knew immediately that something was wrong. It tasted funny, like it was left over for a while and had a funky old food taste. After trying everything I realized this was left over crap they're feeding us. The scallops tasted funky and the lobster was partially burned and was hard like they reheated it. They tried their best to hide the old food taste with the sauce. The rice looked like reheated day old rice too. For $33 bucks this is a rip off. There is dog food better tasting than this and I'm not even exaggerating.
Honestly, this was the one of the worst Asian restaurants I've been to around here. I would not recommend this place and I don't understand how they're in business if they feed people old food. What's worse is the outrageous price for back alley quality food.

Food was excellent, there is a million places to get the same kind of food. But rarely does it look this good, taste this good and come with as great of service. Only in the area for a visit, but it is not too far out of the way to visit. Overall - outstanding

My family and I love Emoji! The staff are always so sweet & patient with our 1 year old. Their tuna tartar is one of the best and their fried rice is to die for. Always good, fresh sushi and the staff are even better!
To call this a “sushi” establishment is a mockery to the Japanese culture. I would not feed this food to my dog, my worst enemy, or the enemy of my worst enemy. I could go on for paragraphs but do yourself a favor and just make the drive to OOKA. This place is so bad I still have nightmares about it.

The food here is really good, the staff was gracious and accommodating, especially with my wife’s Seeing Eye dog, and the nostalgic nineties music made for a very fun lunch. We will definitely be back.
