The food was excellent , service excellent . It was a bot noisy but didn't ruin a lovely lunch
We recently visited to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The food and service were excellent and we would like be to visit again.
A very warm welcome from our arrival, we ordered several dishes for starters to share followed by mains, absolutely delicious. Our server could not have been more helpful and friendly. We will certainly be back, the setting is beautiful and lovely outside seating.
Lunch for 4, long and leisurely enjoyment. Delicious Mussels, Prawns, Fish&Chips and a pie to share. Happy staff, very attentive. Fabulous place
I always love eating at The Anchor and this time was no exception. Lovely atmosphere and lovely food. The staff were as attentive as ever but we were a bit thrown when they came with our Mains when we were still only halfway through enjoying our drinks and nibbles. It would have been nice for them to have been aware at what stage we were at in our meal, and for us not to have felt so rushed.
Really love coming here, it is a cosy pub with a good mixed atmosphere. The food is amazing and the service has always been good. Views are great and cocktails on point. Thoroughly recommend ....
Highly recommended for a visit. Welcoming staff .. nothing too much trouble. Excellent table service for drinks and food . Atmosphere is lovely & the staff are knowledgeable about the beers & menu . Would definitely return.
The food was delicious. We had the pork roast which was amazing followed by the best brownie I've ever had. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our Sunday roast. Food was tasty and well cooked. Service was excellent too.
Sunday beef roast was delicious and just the right amount of food. I am lactose intolerant so the spiced apple dessert with vegan ice cream was brilliant!

Staff so friendly and helpful even though they were really busy. I had the beef carpaccio to start and chicken ballotine with pistachios as my main. Both were outstanding. And that view...😍 I can't wait to visit again. If you want to go on a sunny day or at a weekend I recommend you book online as we did.
Food was great but had to go searching for the table service. My wife is coeliac and it wasn't made particularly clear what was gluten free, they took a beer order which never arrived and then was charged at the end. Otherwise food was excellent and it's a beautiful spot.
Wow!! Amazing location even in winter, food was spectacular, tasty and huge portions (sticky toffee pudding especially!!!) the table service was outstanding which we all really appreciated! We will be back for sure, thank you to all the staff xx
We had a wonderful meal at the Anchor Inn. It was a cosy atmosphere, with very friendly staff, and delicious food. The mussels were some of the best I've ever tasted, the sea bream moist with tasty lemon butter, samphire and fennel, and the sticky toffee pudding enormous! My only slight quibble was the skin on mine and my partner's fish was not crisp. But otherwise excellent. Not a cheap meal but very good quality and would definitely recommend if you have a few quid to spare.
Food was great.Homemade Mushroom soup and ranch dressing was amazing. Entire group enjoyed their meals(steak salad, reuben, fish sandwich, and chicken dinner).
