This place is perfect standard rural American bar atmosphere caring staff amazing food the steak on the salad was absolutely heavenly and the Philly cheese steak has to be the best I have ever had

We stopped in 9/1/24 at around 7pm after a power outage. Were told our food would take a little longer, but it was out faster than expected.
We got the large Tavern Burger which was way bigger than I thought and was excellent. For a burger that big, it was seasoned perfectly and cooked just as it should. The price for a burger that size would have been double anywhere else. Incredible value.
We also got the Reuben which was really good too. Thick bread that was toasted perfectly.
The portobello mushrooms were hand breaded, I think and really good too. Hot pepper cheese balls were nice also.
For a "tavern" off 40, last minute, on a Sunday...there's nothing better within miles. And if there was, you'd have paid double!

Drove a hour and forty five minutes to have dinner with family members on 4th of July; waitress was bitter from the start; took over and hour to get food; my wife ordered a garden salad that she never got; asked waitress for drink refill and never got that either. Biggest joke of resturaunt that I've ever seen.

Stopped in mid afternoon for a sandwich. Reuben was delicious, and the beer battered fries were outstanding.
Fairly dark bar atmosphere, with a tv on behind the bar. Casual and friendly. Expect it's more brightly lit during meal times.

Driving through, looking for a spot for lunch after a hard weekend in the woods. Superb food (beer battered fries are bomb), great service, and an old school side of the road biker bar vibe. Will stop in again if I’m the area

The service is very nice supportive in time efficient the food there is amazing the drinks are even more amazing the anchor inn has been a great experience every time I go there.
Parking: Parking was easy to do and it's located right across the street from the anchor inn
If you are passing through this is a must stop for a bite to eat. Super friendly and the food is delicious. If you are hungry grab the large burger, it’s a mouth full and so good!

Fun local place. It looked like this is where the locals go, they were hanging out and enjoying each other's company along with food. I had the spaghetti special, it was really good, my husband had the burger, he also thought it was delicious. Great service, friendly and helpful.

the food was good here but starting to go down hill fast! last 2 times I ordered I didn't eat my food this time itook it back to get my money back
