If I could give 0 stars, I would. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of the food, but I honestly didn’t think about it because of how angry I was.
Ordered takeout that consisted of a ribeye, margherita pizza, and nachos. My husband picked it up and brought it home. The wait time wasn’t too long from when I called in the order and when he picked it up.
The margherita pizza was immediately disappointing in appearance. There were slices of nearly raw tomato on top with flecks of basil cooked into the cheese. It was clear the pizza had been sitting out for a while because of how hard the cheese was. The worst part was biting into the pizza and realizing that it had a white, garlic sauce. I have never had a margherita pizza with white sauce. I googled it to be sure I wasn’t being picky, and can’t find anything about garlic/white sauce being used on a pizza that’s considered “margherita”.
The worst was the ribeye that was supposed to be cooked medium. It was nearly raw and extremely fatty - I don’t even want to label it rare. It was not edible.
The nachos looked fine.
I called ahead to let the hostess know I wasn’t happy and asked if I should bring the food back in order to get a refund. I was told yes. I drove to the restaurant and waited for 5 min or so in a crowded area with patrons waited to be seated, with the food I wasn’t happy with.
Rachel came out and reviewed my concerns. I told her about the above. She said that “that’s how we do our margherita pizza, the description says garlic aioli” - it does not. And if it does - it needs to be updated on their website. Because I didn’t want to argue (unfortunately), I asked for the money for the steak. She asked if I wanted a new one and I said no. She asked, “did you even try the nachos?” and I said the nachos weren’t the issue, but I didn’t want any of it. Rachel maintained that I would only get reimbursed for the steak, and took the rest of the food.
After telling my husband, he called and told the hostess to put the manager on the phone. She asked him to hold and he waited about 5 min before hanging up and calling right back, only to be sent directly to a VM. My husband had to block his number in order to be able to get through to the restaurant and finally speak to Rachel. She made sure to say she was busy dealing with a party of customers who have not paid yet - and hopefully aren’t going to be as disgusted with their food as we were.
We will never go to Alburtis Tavern again. I hope none of the patrons get sick from the food that they’re dishing out.

Normally not a bad place to go but stopped in for a drink and bite and sat at the bar. Waiting for over 10mins with no one even coming over to us. Only 4 other people in the bar. A large group of people came in and went to the bar and instead of coming over to us to ask what we wanted she came over and said she would be right with us and then went and took care of the group of twelve that came in. The worst of it another waitress sat leaning against the bar and never helped. Not normally a person to complain but thought that it was very rude as they new we were there waiting and got pushed aside. A little better attention goes a long way. Will be awhile before we go back as it rubbed us the wrong way.

New ownership isn't a disappointment. Haven't gone since reopening after covid. It was just as good as before. Love this place.

4 of us ate there on a Sat evening.Very noisey, then 2 couples with 1child each sat in the booth in front of us. The kids were screaming and it took the mother quite a while to take her out and calm her down. The owner never asked them to take the child out to keep customers from being upset over this. We could not even hear each other talk! Very rude!!
Our dinners were not that great, sorry to say! My friend and I had the beer batter shrimp. No crunch!
Tasted bland! Ordered salads with our shrimp as a sub for fries. Surprise! We were NOT told there is a $2.00 up- charge! That really sucks!! The salad was iceberg lettuce and mostly junky pieces of lettuce! When we complained to the waitress, she said she would not charge us for the coffee, since we told her she never said there is an up charge!!! UGG!!! Very frustrating!! Our male friend got the Butternut squash ravioli
and nothing else came with it for $23.!! WHAT???
None of us will be back!!!

We are from Collegeville and figured we would check out the Alburtis Tavern. Very nice inside and lean. I just love old buildings and taverns. We stopped for a drink . And had a great conversation with the awesome bartender Brandi. Very friendly and told us about the history of the place. Some other patrons were having lunch, and the plates looked very nice and nice portions. Definitely will be back for at least lunch
Order wings to go. Wings burnt, dry no flavor, no celery or blue cheese.This was first and last time. We like to support local places instead of big corporations, so very disappointed.
