The first thing you have to know about this place is it isn't an actual stand alone restaurant. It isn't Amish. It's not in a village. It's a farmers market and this place is in the center isle. With that said, it's a decent place for what it is. It's a bit overpriced as the portions were small. However the service was fantastic. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was like butter. I don't know how they did it but it was probably the best chicken cutlet I've ever had. Image that awesome cutlet on a disappointing roll with a small handful of chips. So for what it is it isn't bad. If you're in the farmers market it's definitely worth stopping by. The food was decent and they had some pretty good specials posted on the wall. But it definitely isn't a destination eatery.

The food is authentic and home made. Now don't go rushing over here all you New Yorkers and bennies. Stay away !

Plenty ground beef, not enough kidney beans, one or two pieces tomato in cup of Chili.Chili didn't have much flavor, seemed to be sitting in oil which I avoided.I was excited to see they have quite a few grilled sandwiches on their menu. However Turkey Melt sandwich lacked grilled quality, wasn't served hot, wasn't fresh off the grill.I gave a star because waitress was nice.

Recently was going to stop at the Allentown Farmers Market. I entered near the Amish Village Kitchen. In these times, I was extremely surprised to see there is no social distancing at this vendor. No blocked off seating. People sitting next to each other. Does any one in authority at the market monitor to be sure the vendors are following COVID 19 restrictions? With the vast majority of the market clientele being senior citizens, some one should be! After noting the situation I immediately turned around and walked out! A very unsafe borderline dangerous situation that I did not want to be around.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner on Thursdays , Fridays and Saturdays at this Adorable old-fashioned soda fountain with red stools mix easily with homemade breads, fantastic cooks and servers with impressive, upbeat customer service. Favorite items: dinner rolls, chicken salad sandwich with melted Swiss cheese on toasted bread, everything made to order and the best tasting iced tea in the Lehigh Valley. (With Slow's BBQ cork town /Detroit having the other best iced tea ever). Other visitor ordered roast beef platter and it was a super tasty meal. Desserts worth a try as are their soups of various kinds. Remember their special holiday hours, so check Allentown Farmers Market's website or call them for specifics. Leave feeling revived, well cared for and ready for your day.
