Grabbed lunch here today for the first time - what a treat!!! Jay’s Local is charming, service is simply wonderful, and our meals & coffee were delicious. The pretzels are to die for and I loved the salted caramel cold brew. Can’t wait to come back when I’m in town again.
best cafe I have ever visited. Great quality and the selection of offerings is perfect. Love the local bagels and the kombucha on tap. Environment is so cute and friendly
Great hospitality and great food. Very happy to have come across this gem.
The place is beautiful but sadly the food/drinks do not match up! My matcha tasted like straight milk. Cinnamon roll was just basically hard bread. Overall this please needs to live up better to its presented potential.
Jay’s local offers a few vegetarian and vegan options. You just have to ask. We were out this way to take care of some business. Decided to google local places and came across Jay’s local. This is a very pretty place in a nice area near the Allentown Whitehall area. And sits very close to Muhlenberg College. What a great atmosphere on the inside and outside, the outside they have a great seating area with a huge sidewalk and within that sidewalk, they have cut outs of nice manicured grass where you'll find seating, on the inside not only do they have seating like regular restaurant style down the center, off to the sides they have really nice couches and stand a load seats and this is a very inviting for whatever you may have to do either to enjoy lunch, to have a meeting or to do studying as you’re seeing some of the pictures that I have. Also off to the sides you’ll see a local community board as well as some local art. This place has an excellent vibe to it. I want to thank Chef Anthony for schooling us on the ingredients that were available an our server Gio was very nice very attentive. Our food was great the veggie burger that I had was put together very well. It tasted almost like a burger You can get right out of your backyard barbecue. We also had waffle cut sweet potato fries that were freshly made and a nice spring mix salad with fresh sliced tomatoes, red onions, and a really nice vinaigrette. The croutons were fantastic, they were freshly made. I know they’re just croutons but when you have a have a freshly made crouton it’s something you will remember as I’ve had quite a few bad ones which also it’s something you remember lol , these were great! This would be a nice place to bring family and friends, and they have a wide variety of choices from baked goods to regular food items, I must make mention that this is a very wheelchair accessible location as there are curb cuts leading up to the sidewalk that is huge and on the way into the entrance, the door is very wide and the surface is flat on the way in there is no step to go up and on the inside there is plenty of space to navigate around. I like to fact that the idea of this place is really involved in the community and the surrounding businesses they support local artists and offer cooking classes workshops, just check out there nice website, there’s even a pop-up vegan pizza event every Friday from 5:30-8:00pm and Sunday from 12-6:00 pm, you’ll see the picture that I have attached. this is in partnership with by paranormal pizza.
Great friendly service.
Quite literally the best breakfast sandwiches you're going to get in the Lehigh Valley. The atmosphere is so welcoming, spacious and family friendly.
Great place with pop ups on the weekend. The pizza and mango sticky rice pop ups were delicious! Has a kids changing area and kids toys for the little ones.
So, we drove in from out of town, and of course, our little wiener dog came along. My wife went in for iced oat milk lattes, and I hung out with the pup. When I went in for the restroom, we found out they were dog-friendly! Our dog was so happy, getting all the pets. Then, the cutest little girl gave him a tiny whipped cream cup. It was adorable. Oh, and the lattes were delicious!
I haven't been as excited for food in a while as I get when I come here.

I've been here several times and each time I wanted to like this place...but when you can't even make a hot chocolate hot and it's instant no less...it's pretty sad. Other times they had equipment that wasn't working, etc. I really love the owners who are so nice and had known Jay for years before he passed...the quality of the food/beverage though is severely lacking.
Can’t wait to go back!
The women who took my order seemed very unenthusiastic about serving me. My drink was basically entirely milk with a splash of coffee. The sandwich was okay but I definitely overpriced for the quality and the cinnamon rolls are so dry and crisp also bread like with hardly any cinnamon inside the roll and a nauseatingly sweet icing that was super off putting. Wish them the best but I would not waste my money here again.
Jay’s Local is a place that every neighborhood should have. Loved the vibe and the aesthetic. The biscuit sandwich was delicious. The cinnamon roll was decent too. People are friendly and the food is well made. A few tables to sit down if you want to get some work done. The college kids probably love it. I do too!
One of my favorite places in Allentown. The staff is friendly and their all day breakfast is always welcomed. The smoothies are great too!
