Good food, friendly staff. I guess that's why I have been going there for 60 years.

Not sure how this place got a 4.3 rating...
The food was inedibly awful.and the service was worse.
We should have left after the 'root beer float'...that tasted like they ran out of root beer syrup...basically brown seltzer and horrid soft serve
The BBQ Pork sandwich was inedible. Shredded pork with no taste drowned in bottled bbq sauce with diced onions... NOT 'onion straws' and NO cole slaw. And how they could mess up frozen sweet potato fries is inexplainable.
The frozen fried fish on the fish & chips platter was the best part of the meal. Go figure.
Not a single item on the menu is made in house. And how this could have been almost $40...???

An Allentown staple! Do yourself a favor and get yourself a bbq sandwich.
I ate there twice and both times weren’t very good.. 1st time I got the hot roast beef sandwich and it was horrible, it was so tough and dried out that it was hard to cut with a sharp knife. We decided to try it out again about 6 months later and still not good. I ordered a steak sandwich that was recommended by the waitress because she said it was better than the Brass Rail. The steak sandwich was a 3 out of 10, hardly any meat and the meat was dried out. I tried it twice and both times weren’t good so I’m done.

I got the Haddock Sandwich. It was delicious, fried perfectly. Took half of it home because of the generous portion. Couldn't waitt to finish it the next day.

I go there for their interesting specials. Halupki, beef pie, hot bacon dressing and other local favorites that you just don't see anymore. The decor is an interesting mish-mosh of paintings and photos of Allentown Downtown during the heights of it's Hess's days, Allentown Fair nostalgia items, local classic car club information. And best of all, some old photos that survived the fire a decade ago.
Over all, a must try if you want a taste of PA Dutch favorites and something familiar but slightly different. Costs about the same as a meal at fast food but much better quality. And make sure you take a look at the dessert fridge!

We love going here and stepping back in time. It reminds us of the good old days of the Lehigh Valley. Their shortly pie ice cream is awesome.

A staple in Allentown, its been there for 90 years, I'm 72 and we always went there for Barbecues, and Ice Cream. The original owners made their own Ice Cream, but the new owners have great Ice cream that matches the original owners. Lots of parking and a large Farmers market that offer veggies, meats, baked goods cheeses and jams and jellies. The Market is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. TheRitz Barbecue is open everyday. ENJOY!!

The Ritz has a cool sensation of yesteryear with a kind and wonderful serving staff. The place is relatively quiet and is always clean.
My girlfriend loved her BLT with fries (no tomato and added American cheese). I needed protein and got the meat lovers breakfast (three eggs, bacon, four sausage links, and an amazing ham steak). The rye toast came dry and overdone and the home fries were bland.
They have homemade ice cream and I enjoyed the black raspberry (though too sweet) and my girlfriend loved her soft serve vanilla with sprinkles in a wafer cone.

Then I had ice cream and half way through realized I forgot the photos.. totally worth stopping in and give it a try.. was very much worth it and will be back.. oh note all the staff was friendly and willing to answer all my questions about the menu.. the supply chain and the 100 year history of the restaurant!!!
