I’ve been a loyal customer at this Starbucks for many years. The downtown atmosphere, great people, and relaxed vibe always made it a favorite spot of mine. But sadly, that experience has been completely ruined due to a recent and deeply disturbing encounter with the new assistant manager, Dante.
Dante made the dangerous and careless decision to place massive, heavy umbrellas—each weighing easily 40 to 50 pounds—right in the small customer seating area. These umbrellas aren’t mounted or secured properly and cover multiple tables, creating a serious tripping and falling hazard. I accidentally poked myself in the leg while trying to sit down. When I respectfully brought it to his attention, he responded by raising his voice, telling me the umbrellas weren’t moving and essentially said, “If you don’t like it, leave or sit somewhere else.”
That kind of response is unacceptable and unprofessional.
As a local business owner for many years in the Lehigh Valley and a retired state police officer, I know a clear safety concern when I see one. And this is absolutely one. One of those umbrellas already fell—if it had landed on someone’s foot or a child, the injuries could have been serious. I do not believe this setup complies with city safety or health codes, and I fully intend to report it to the City of Allentown to ensure this is addressed before someone gets hurt.
Unfortunately, because of the hostile environment and the way my concern was completely disregarded, I will never return to this location until there is new management in place. This Starbucks went from a five-star favorite to a one-star disappointment. Corporate and local authorities need to step in and take this seriously.

Called the police on a young man yesterday for taking to long to use the restroom. He wasn’t doing anything wrong until they showed up and gave him a hard time. Poor kid. Guess he didn’t look like their usual patrons… Shameful.

After I purchased my drink, I sat down to do school work. I propped my foot up because I just had surgery yesterday and clearly have a cast on my foot. The guy yelled from behind the counter to get my feet off the furniture.

This was the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been the Hispanic girl with curly hair and freckles is extremely rude and the Hispanic man with the beard was just as rude they treated me horribly and were the worst rudest Starbucks employee I’ve ever encountered

I don't like Starbucks coffee at all and I think it's way overpriced but it's in a plate and right at the statue in Allentown on Hamilton and 7th Street and it's in a very good place and the employees are always very friendly unfortunately Starbucks coffee is too acidic for me and it's way overpriced
Wheelchair accessibility: It has a ramp going down from the sidewalk and you can go into the restaurant and a flat surface there are no stairs
