The food quality has gone down hill over the past few years. The Manhattan clam chowder head almost no flavor whatsoever. The color was off they put something into the Manhattan clam broth that clouded it up almost like they added cornstarch to give it a little thickness which it's Manhattan clam chowder and from the School of cooking that I went to that should never be done. It's not that kind of soup. The half roast chicken was very greasy. Almost as if they dropped it in the deep fat fryer at the end of the cooking just to try and crisp up the outside which was not a good mouthfeel. The salad bar which used to have chopped hard boiled egg back in the day diced ham and turkey not there anymore. Just partially rusting lettuce and pre-made salads out of a tub. They call it a family restaurant but it's just the diner with mediocre food.

Seems to have slipped in quality and service. Waitress was nice enough but seemed to be overwhelmed. Used to be a great atmosphere... maybe I just caught them at a bad time.

This place is a joke. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with clear instructions — au jus, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions slightly cooked, and horseradish. What I got was garbage: a cold, dry, tasteless sandwich on plain white toast. No au jus on the meat, no horseradish on the bread, raw onions, and meat so dry it was barely edible.

I sent it back after two bites. Instead of owning their screw-up, they told me I ordered the “wrong sandwich” and then had the nerve to charge me another $7. Even after paying more, they still couldn’t get it right. Same mistakes, same trash sandwich.

For what they charged me, I could have gone to 7-Eleven, spent less, and actually gotten something decent. At least there, I know what I’m getting — not this pathetic excuse for food.

The only saving grace was my waitress (Kaylee or Haley — she was fine), but the kitchen? Useless. If they can’t even follow basic instructions for a simple sandwich, why should anyone trust them to make anything?

I was going to be generous with 3 stars, but after this disaster, they’re lucky I can’t go below 1 star. Do yourself a favor — don’t waste your money here. Go anywhere else.

I JUST TOOK TWO BITES OF THIS SANDWICH AND IT TASTES LIKE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
NOT EVEN THE HORSERADISH HAS ANY FLAVOR.

I live in the macungie area and I work until 11pm or 1am and there seems to be hardly anything good to eat in this area. I found this 24 hr diner which is harder than you may think in this post COVID era. At 130am I ordered a patty melt with fries. It was great. I'll be back here more often.

Salad and soup Bars had nice variety and fresh food. Meals were good and plentiful. The server and facilities/decor were nice. Couple of negatives were the iced tea (not fresh brewed) was from the soda fountain and the dining room was 80 degrees.

Used to work in the area and dine here frequently. Returned after about 4 years and the food quality has not slipped. One of the best restaurants in the area.
