Hi I went there today in Allentown pa. 11/19/2023.
As I'm checking out I purchased 10 bags, the young lady packed the bag to where they were breaking before I could touch them. I politely say hey this bag is already torn , I'll need a new one.
She looked at the bag sighed n continued to scan the items which is fine. After she gave me my total n I again said are you gonna hand me a bag this one is torn? She immediately with an attitude said you should have just told me ! I said I did tell you , you turned looked at the bag directly and sighed and continued to scan. She began attempting to argue with me about a freaking replaceable bag. I immediately stopped her in her mid attitude and told her no ma'am not with me.
I went to the customer service which literally was across from her. I told the young lady she apologized and asked if she wanted to give me a bag I said no it's no longer about the BAG this young lady is disrespectful n I'm uncomfortable. So I went over to pay.
She took my receipt and slid it behind her to the counter n literally slid it more so I can pick it up. As I'm standing there!! You gotta be kidding me. I went back again the lady apologize but she seemed pissed now too n looked over at the cashier. So she said here's a manager. N I see the manger often working all through the store n she's always pleasant n I always speak n laugh with her.
I explained my situation she said no way she apologized and said did you want me to scan the rest I said no ma'am she needs to do her job and learn customer service. She said the young lady's mother is the customer service manager as well do she'll let her mother know as well.
I appreciate that. However this young girl is privileged having her mother as her supervisor, meaning this needs a larger attention! So it doesn't continue to others.
I as a black woman shop there for myself and I do insta cart when I'm not nursing I'm a RN. I love the holiday season to help others who are seniors and can't get out or others with no transportation. I'm doing these batches 100 items $7 pay 8 miles! To help. My husband a black man also comes to help he's an executive in marketing in Manhattan. We do this to help n give back. I feel every time I enter Wegmans racially discriminated. Yes, smiles and all there's not a comfortable time when you see employees as if black customers are a bother! And that's unacceptable and this isn't the first time I came in last year and went through a 20 item or less not realizing it. And had a embarrassing moment in front of others by the older white women working up front . I came back in to grab something and they were huddled at my register and had the nerve to print out my personal receipt to count my items after the fact which was weird and unnecessary and unacceptable. I left a review and it was handled with respect by a manager. My point is this is not customer service by any means. Especially towards black shopper's. Now as I stood there with a manager the little girl had the biggest attitude as she checked and stuffed my bags. I later went to the parking lot and had to re bag and situated the items so the customers have Wegmans best looking produce and not tossed as she has done.
I appreciate the time I hope it's looked in to the time was about 3pm. Ask and they'll know. Little blonde lady with a broom always cleaning and moving she's definitely the best. Thank you Desar'ee

What is going on in this store! Wegmans was always know for the excellent customer service and friendly staff. Not any more ! They are quick to answer, without help. I understand with covid, things have changed but, come on. There used to be 4 people at customer service, now your lucky if you find one. I got screamed at by the stockman because I couldn't find the item I needed. They used to count the amount of people in the store. PA is not in the free zone yet, nope...no one counting, people are shoulder to shoulder, no one is adhering to the six foot standards either. Come one Wegmans, get it together.

I used to love to go Wegmans pub for a drink and snack at happy hour. It used to be so good when they 1st opened and over time it seems their food has gone down hill. Many times the service is also poor.

This is a quality supermarket, their bakery is outstanding and the selection of meats/grocery/dairy/even water is just so good, on top of that the beer and wine selection is awesome. My only critique is the sake they have available in the wine dept is not the best compared to everything else this store does, and the amount of sushi they sell not being paired with a good sake selection. I'm reaching but I guess you have to.
Very good hot & cold bar! Stopped in here with my daughter so she could hit the wing bar and I decided to grab a "big salad". The Chinese food is above average and the sushi is made to order if you ask the ladies behind the counter. Over time, I've hardened my resolve to not purchase the large cookies at the register. They are delicious but deadly

Still my favorite, unlike Whole Foods in Hamilton Crossings which has unsanitary conditions around the food bars and a sloppy worker who is still pushing the food back into the open food bins with his gloved hands from the surrounding stainless steel bar. That place hasn't changed. Management there did nothing to control this worker from repeating this filthy habit again. Yes he did it again after management was advised about him. Wegmans is divine. Great customer service! If something is bad when you get it home a phone call takes care to it. No problems with them taking care of issues and no bad employees allowed to get away with performing disgusting food health violations. Love their array of foods and the food bars are kept clean! Employees are customer service oriented. I shop there several times a week.

I don't know if it's me but the prices at Wegmans seem off the wall! Everything is so overpriced. I went to the food court and got a spoonful of tuna and a scoop of watermelon. Barely was half of a carry out container. Price was over $8 dollars. If you went too the diner you'd get soup and2 sides for that price. In the meat dept the price of steaks were outrageous. A 20 oz ribeye was only $5 less than a bone in ribeye (20oz) at Outback with a salad and 2 sides--and they cook and clean up. I don't know what's happening but it's time to go to a Giant or Weis

My hubs and I love the hot bar (although sometimes I feel they can't quite keep up with the demand for fresh refills on food) and they have a great selection of natural/ health foods. Overall a great experience, but definitely a popular spot so expect lots of other shoppers and a bustling atmosphere. The employees are very friendly and expedient however!

I ordered Wegmans to go. Tiny medium size really a personal size. Pizza delivered looked like a frozen type....nothing like the ads....wasted $13. So disappointing.
