We’ve patronized Thunderhead Lodge twice in 2 weeks with friends at each visit. Service was great at both visits and everyone agreed (both visits) that it’s definitely worth another visit! The French onion soup is amazing and the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries is amazing! Looked like they are investing in a fantastic outdoor space- can’t wait to see what this summer holds!
First timer. We had delicious food. Friendly staff. We will be back for sure. Many more options to try!Highly recommend
Brunch is always good. Plates always come out full, and food is always on point.

The restaurant was not busy but we sat for 55 minutes before receiving our food. I ordered a simple reuben sandwich that came out extremely hard and dry. The hand cut fries were cold and rubbery. It was like it sat under a heating light for far too long. Very disappointing. I will not return to this establishment.

They don’t have a changing table in the men’s room, so if your a father of a little one and they have an accident… good luck. Food is good and the service was too, however I refuse to give anymore than one star for not having a changing table.

Sat on the back patio and enjoy Sunday brunch. Had a ham and cheddar omelet. Enjoyed a Bloody Mary.

I recently dined at this restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere, particularly the outdoor patio in the back. It’s a fantastic spot to bring your dog, and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxing meal outdoors. However, the food and service left some room for improvement.
I ordered a medium hamburger, but unfortunately, it arrived well-done. I chose not to send it back, partly because the waitstaff was largely indoors and not easily accessible, and partly because I didn’t want to wait for a replacement. Given the price of the burger, I expected more attention to detail from the kitchen.
We also ordered the fish and chips, which were served without coleslaw or tartar sauce. After asking another waitress, she quickly brought the tartar sauce, but only upon returning she realized the coleslaw was also missing. While the staff did correct these oversights, it was disappointing to have to prompt them. Additionally, the tartar sauce was on the spicier side, so diners should be aware of that.
In summary, while this restaurant offers a wonderful dog-friendly outdoor space, the food and service did not quite match the higher price point. With a little more attention from the kitchen and staff, it has the potential to be a great spot.

Orion is the nicest guy and waiter I’ve ever met. Gave us the 5-star experience and treated us like royalty! Such a good stop for our thru hike on the Appalachian trail. Highly recommend the Kentucky burger

Dined on the patio this time. Such a great experience. Great food. Great view. Lovely waitstaff. The only issue is the patio seating is a bit wonky. Seats have springs that propel you backward, you have to sit on the edge to remain upright. Basically you perch to eat your meal. I love everything else about this place.
