Old World feel (established 1804) except for the modern music. Casual elegance. We arrived about 3pm, and the place was bustling with regular patrons even when the weather was gloomy (rainy and windy). Loved the freshly prepared tasty haddock and tenderloin sandwiches, onion rings, and fries.
This is our go- to place with friends for a special evening. Love the cozy, calm atmosphere, good service and good food. Especially like the scallops, viener schnitzle, steak salad, French onion soup, clam chowder and carrot cake.

We had a gathering after a funeral here. The staff was fantastic. They took care of 30 people easily. The food was outstanding.
Bartender was amazing! Her name is Steph. There was entertainment very personable guy. Lady walking around probably manager _owner open roe shoes behind the bar and kitchenDid not give you a welcome feeling

Great historic tavern with a menu filled with a variety of foods.Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian and eat fish.so there were several options available to me
We love their prime rib! (Only served Fri/Sat). My hubby's grandmother loved this place (she always knew the best places to eat) and his mom introduced us to it years ago. Now we try to fit in a dinner here whenever visiting.

Saw the reviews and I had to try it. Katie served me. She was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and offered great recommendations. I was here for lunch and went with the Reuben with hand cut fries. Very Good. They have a nice been selection. If you are someone who appreciates places with character and a story this is a neat place. Anytime I am in the area, I will have to return here. Thank you for the great experience.

We got NY strip and scallops. Both were not good. Scallops were supposed to be in a wine/butter sauce. It just tasted like they ladled on butter from a can. NY strip was the toughest steak we've had in years. Bill was 100 with tip. What a waste of money. Our friends got chicken parm, and that was not bad. Do not plan to return.
