Food was mediocre, too much salt on fries, and tartar sauce was made for me and awful, was very sour!! Bar tender and staff don't smile, making it feel unwelcoming. Coleslaw was very tasteful, but they were cut in spirals, and it was hard to eat. I was surprised they had no drink menu for mixed drinks. I had to Google something for him to make me.

Food was fair, not terrible but nothing special. Service was mediocre. Atmosphere was nice. The place is clean. Parking sucks.We drove 12 miles to try out this place and while I'd stop by if I was ever passing through Ashland I for sure wouldn't make the trip just to visit this establishment again.

EDIT: I should clarify, I do NOT recommend this establishment due to horrible service but there are many pluses too. (Timeline continues in comments). This was our first time here. Decor is great and the staff very friendly. It’s clean and inviting. However the wait time is not good. We arrived at 5:35 ish and finally placed our order, by choice, @6 pm. It’s 6:48 now and we’re still waiting. It’s filling up now and an appetizer, that’s tasty, came out at 6:43 after I mentioned to our sweet server about the time. A couple who sat next to us just 30 minutes ago already has their food. We’re losing patience despite the sweet staff. ☹️ Be prepared to wait… not sure I’ll come back now despite my initial impression of the building and staff.

Beautiful, quaint Bistro in the middle of Ashland, so glad to finally find a diamond in the ruff! Food is fantastic, service is excellent, very clean, professional atmosphere! I look forward to the weekends for a night out with the hubby and this is our favorite spot!! ♥️

Absolutely cannot pass a health inspection, Lacks fundamental food handling practices. Luckily the inspector in Schuylkill county never checks. Filthy food sicer, mishandled RTE foods time temp abuse cross contamination. Use of snap traps in a commercial kitchen to control rats. Dishes washed without proper temp and chemicals. Lack of proper hand washing equipment. Food stored iimproperly. Owner states he has arrangements with the inspector wink wink.

I was at Whistler's several times the food and cleaniess of the the place and the service great and the owners were the nicest people and welcomed everyone i will go back and take friends with me the place in every way is just awesome i can not say enough thank you for having such a great establishment.
Absolutely great experience. Drinks and food were amazing. Had a party of 6 food all came at the same time. Was hot and very delicious. Would recommend reservations for a group. Definitely would recommend.

I visited Whistlers for the first time this week and I was pleased. It is a little gem in an old coal mining town. The atmosphere is welcoming and classy as is the clientele. It is what you should expect of a bistro. The staff did an excellent job. There were two girls working the bar and tables and at least one person in the kitchen. The service was great and food delivery was timed perfect. The food is honestly nothing super fancy but very very good. I got the Whistlers pasta, i think thats what it's called, with chicken. I asked for the cajun option. It was pretty awesome. My mouth is watering as I write this. Those with me got the chicken sandwich, chicken dinner, and a burger, wings, brussel sprouts and bacon ranch eggroll. Everyone was happy with their meals. The hand-cut fries were crispy and fresh. Mashed potatoes were buttery and delicious. Two thing that can use improvement: the eggroll was very good but the portion is just one cut in half . Not the best bang for the buck. The breading on the fried chicken sandwich was just a little salty but that could be just a one off thing. We're excited to go back and try other items on the menu.

So the week prior to now went for just drinks, sat AT THE BAR FOR MORE THAN A HALF HOUR BEFORE EVERN RECEIVING A DRINK MENU....gave them the benefit of the doubt, went back this week for food and drink...service started well, my appetizer came with my fiancés main course, I just let it go...a couple who came in 20 mins after us, gets their main course and I still didn't get MY BURGER that's right a BURGER.....Dont waste your time, no seating no parking no service
