Colarusso’s Café has always been a favorite of ours. When we lived in the area 20 years ago, we went often for both lunch and dinner. It’s a cozy Italian restaurant with a true hometown feel, and everything on the menu is excellent. The pizza has always been our favorite, so on a recent visit back we stopped in for a tray, it was just as good as we remembered! Warm atmosphere, friendly service, and food that never disappoints.
Chef and owner Mario Colarusso has a stuffed eggplant parmesan on the menu that is off the charts with flavor, texture, and oral experience. I am an eggplant snob and rarely find exquisite eggplant at small town restaurants. But please rest assured that Mario’s eggplant does not disappoint!!! I highly recommend this dish if you are in Avoca, PA.
A wonderful local Italian restaurant with an old-time flare and great Italian food. The service staff is attentive and cordial which makes it a wonderful place to have dinner are there great pizza!
